This is what a top WR costs now. Deebo fits this offense and what we want to do perfectly. This is where he should be. Health is the big question mark, but it is partially on Kyle to limit the risk as well. Excited he is going to be a 49er for years to come. He is a unique talent and represents this organization with class. Now Let's go get #6

Glad it got done in time for the first practice in pads.
Yup that one turned out to be flat out BS

Live look at the "they can't extend Deebo until they cut/trade Garoppolo crew" right now:

In an odd sense, this had to be the easiest contract in history. It was literally written for you.

1 Glad he signed.
2 Hated the process.
3 Alot of money for a WR.
4. Hope his role has not changed although a few less carries would be a good idea.

If one of these RBs separate themselves things will begin to get scary.
Yep, plus our defense is nasty, especially if Drake Jackson turns into that speedy EDGE opposite Nick that we hope he does, plus having Warner signed long term, then adding Ward at CB, hopefully they look into keeping Jimmie Ward on a new deal, but we have our core signed for at least 3 yrs, Trey, Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle, Trent, Juice, Warner, Armstead, C.Ward, then Bosa will be next year, plus all the young talent we have on rookie deals.
The only real question mark is Trey Lance. If Trey is a hit and at least a 5% upgrade over Jimmy then we can win a Super Bowl.

I don't know how we pulled this off
It is a great contract for us, especially at only 23 mil per year, and I'm sure some of that is back loaded for the last year.
Also let's face it, if we keep using Deebo like this, and even if we don't but he continues to also play with that physicality, I doubt he will still be elite after 29-30.
I'm really surprised he took such a short deal, he must be really betting on himself and thinks he will be able to get a huge 4/5 year contract down the line.

That's what happens when you draft well…you stress out about losing those guys
Especially if you buy into a false moneyball narrative.
Kittle check
Warner check
Trent check
Deebo check
Bosa in 23 then Aiyuk in 24 then Trey if things go like we hope.
Yep, no moneyball here, sure Paraag is a cheap b*****d at times, hard negotiator, but he's the best in the business.
Now Deebo is highest paid player on 49ers, once Jimmy is gone.
No way to "win the contract" here. Every piece of that contract from max value to APY to GTD $ was perfectly outlined.
If you wanted Deebo, this is what it would cost. If not, trade him. And they didn't trade him so no choice.
Congrats to all parties!

That's ultimately what that was all about...another way to blame JG. LOL

Or the nuances of contracts and salary cap are not something everyone spends the time to understand. Regardless, next move bye bye JG..
