So far NC's called it. Now Pettis might turn that around in the Steeler game, but Pettis had no receiving production in this game. Very disappointing, and I think JImmy knows that Pettis isn't going to fight for the ball - so he's not going to throw it to Pettis. I can feel Hurd taking over his spot once Hurd gets healthy.
P.S. or I should say - one of the other WR's that *want* it more than Pettis.
I'm not always right, but when I am, I prefer being a 9ers fan.

Deebo, Hurd and Pettis could form a great wr trio in the next few years

Ladies and gentlemen, you're confirmed featured X receiver going forward.
It feels like Jimmy Garoppolo is starting to trust him more and more.

I don't get how many fans can be so quick to judge a player, he's been dealing with a calf issue, they have 5 WRs active each week, and not everyone can get the ball, he'll get his, but to call him not good enough or a bust is ridiculous, way way too early.
Exactly, but some fans want instant production or are quick to label young players as bust. Pettis showed more than enough in his rookie season for some to already be questioning him.
Bunch of peoples just tying to stay ahead of the curve and trying to sound intelligent. It's much easier to hedge your bets by being negative on players.
do not yell at us fans for calling pettis out.. kyle did that. when the coach does it. it does make one think

The first week, the whole offense was rusty for good reason. Kyle's off. clicks when the running game is functioning (yesterday was outrageously good and we can't expect that every week), then play action works better and the pass game prospers.
I said in one post before the Bucs game that if the niners get the run game functioning 4-5 ypc, the O will be good. It wasn't so luckily the D was busting a gut. Nothing insightful, but truth.
Jimmy is still learning, He has been in the system for only for 10 games, needs a whole season. So technically after midseason, he should be able to let loose as long as he stays healthy. Deebo should also improve as the season progresses. I loved how on one pass he went after the ball by cutting off his route and coming back instead of just continuing on and the pass looking like it would be short if he didn't.
