Deebo wants the ball in those situations. Deebo seeks out contact. Deebo plays VERY VERY differently than Jerry, with all due respect to the GOAT.

Very true but is taking that kind of contact sustainable? Ask yourself how long a rb's career lasts. It's not like that was some kind of freak injury. I think Jerry may have a point that we might want to avoid having him taking so many shots
I agree Deebo, aiyuk, kittle, CMC should only run deep routes say 15yds outside and 25yds inside. And only if they will not be hit as they catch it.
No more hot routes. No slants, digs, screens, quick outs, or flats. Only gos, posts, corners, and deep comebackers and no tackle evades or breaks. Catch the ball and go to the ground

does Jerry know what he's talking bout? because it was an outside run that Deebo cut back inside. Fred Taylor is HoF semifinalist. he was a beast too. not a GOAT like Jerry but still one of the better RBs that's played in the NFL.

Outside run. So was the reverse that ended Jerry's season. Jerry knows what it's like getting hit by de's and dt's. That's why he's bringing up this is something you want to avoid if you want Deebo having a long, healthy career.

Deebo wants the ball in those situations. Deebo seeks out contact. Deebo plays VERY VERY differently than Jerry, with all due respect to the GOAT.

Rice was in another level than even Deebo when it came to running after the catch. Quicker, faster, with better footwork...he was just harder to tackle because no one could touch him.

never said Rice wasnt. Jerry was the GOAT. but Jerry never sought out contact with the ball in his hands as Deebo does. Deebo Samuel is way more physical with the ball in his hands. and that comment is no slight on Jerry's play. they just play differently.

And That is why Jerry Played for so many years with so few injuries. Deebo will not last very long continuing to play the way he does.

are you gonna tell Deebo to play differently? have fun with that.

RBs that have short careers carry the ball 20-25 times a game. Naturally they get beat up unless they're really big. Deebo isn't running that often. The way he tugs and lunges after making a catch could just as easily cause a knee or ankle injury.

Fred Taylor called Rice's comment preposterous and he's absolutely right

We all see JR sippin' during the games. No doubt that s**t hit before he made his comment.

And it doesn't look like wine he is drinking. Looks like whiskey or bourbon.

There's no damn way I could sit in a hot a** stadium in a suit drinking bourbon. Unless there's ice in it.

So the YAC GOAT sipping the YAC watching our team get more YAC? Who's got it better than us??? Noooooobody!

Mmm... I dunno. Semantics, but it kind of did look like a freak injury. He was getting tackled and his leg got rolled up by the defender. Still waiting on the results of the MRI, but we're fortunate he didn't snap his ankle in two there.

If Deebo does not play like that, he is not a starter. Maybe not even an NFL player.

And owens and boldin had pretty long careers.

Yes, because having your wr avoid taking shots from defensive tackles equals to go down right away. Again this is coming from our goat receiver. 20 years, 1 injury. Please keep acting like you know more than him.

Deebo's not just a WR. i mean this dude sells t-shirts on his website specifically calling himself a hybrid player WR/RB.

comparing the two players traditionally by the position misses the point entirely
Receptions 54.
Receiving yards 978

Those we're his receiving stats through the first 9 games of last season. but yeah, let's continue using him as RB.

Kyle then thought It would be wise to do the same with our PR ( Mccloud ) total madness, but at least we won and should hopefully clinch the division Thursday night by beating the Seahawks.
Kyle said he tried to call a timeout prior to running that play that Deebo got hurt on but the ref never heard him.

now add the avg depth of yards per pass and the YAC numbers for those first nine games.
Well??????

He was still used as a receiver, was he not? Less chance of 300lb linemen falling on him.

i'll mention this again. this kind of thought process is no different than playing scared. a player can get hurt just as easily without any contact. playing a physical game like NFL football and worrying about injuries wont win you many games let alone championships.
