After further evaluation, Samuel has an MCL sprain and ankle sprain, but not high-ankle. #49ers host the #AZCardinals Week 18 to closeout regular season. @theScore

That could have been so much worse. Thank you football gods for sparing us a little bit.

Didn't Mitchell have the same injury (mcl sprain) and needed 8 weeks to recover?

I believe so. It would be huge having both of them back ( healthy ) just In time for the playoffs

Deebo's sprain is probably not as severe as Mitchell's. It's amazing he's only out 3-4 weeks.

Hopefully somehow we secure the #2 slot before the last game of the season so he can wait to come back in the playoffs.

Pretty much. We can clinch Thursday and although getting the 2 seed is a possibility no need to rush.

The thing is, #2 or #3, you are putting your hope on another team not taking care of business. I firmly believe the 49ers can go to any location in the NFC and win that road game with a healthy team, Deebo specifically. So if I have to choose, I would rather a healthy Deebo and the #3 seed versus a gimpy Deebo and the #2 seed.
Now, #1 seed and that week off, that's a different discussion.

Can't coach scared. 21-0 in the 2Q versus Brady, need to play it like 0-0 imo. If it was 35-7 in the 4Q and that happened, I can see an argument for not running Deebo, but that's not what happened.
It's not like our coach saw Tom Brady come from behind being down 20ish points before or anything.
Brady was still In his prime back then and the Falcons didn't have the best defense In the league either.
Keep In mind, Kyle did the same thing earlier In the season too when he decided to run out the clock before the half by having Deebo run it up the gut ( last play of the half I believe ).
Sucks we lost a key player like Deebo, but this could have been avoided by using Mason more often.
Tom Brady scored 2 TD's in like 3 minutes to come from behind and win - LAST WEEK!

I had flashbacks of Bowman in Seattle when it happened.

So did I. Same sickening feeling where I couldn't even enjoy the rest of the game
