Off topic, but after Deebo came off immature the summer we were negotiating his extension, I was impressed by his comments to Kay Adams the other day about Aiyuk's impending deal. Nice to see growth.

Why are people talking about trading Deebo? bc he got clamped in the SB with a tweaked hamstring and bruised shoulder? sure he can play better without the ball in his hands but does that really warrant a trade? He is a nightmare for CB's to tackle

He had one good game last year against Philly and he was pretty non factor all year

1000 yard season is a non factor year?
we have some ungrateful f**ks on this forum... always have, always will apparently. Usually the same ones.

to call f**king Deebo lazy? to act like he has problems catching the ball? Get the f**k out of here.

Deebo is lazy when it comes to blocking. But he's still the heart of this offense. The team feeds off of him and Kittle.

Yeah man I don't get the Deebo hate. I love the guy.

I don't think his shoulder was anywhere near 100% in the SB which is why he wasn't really blocking then, never mind the gimp leg after..... But yes we do see that at times. That's why they have coaches though. Let Kyle ask him about it.

His effort level is not great when he doesn't have the ball in his hands. It's all over the film.

That said, that negative is far outweighed by his positives. Personally I think the 'worst' thing about his game is his inability to stay healthy, but that's seemingly a direct result of his style.

It's was in his game film throughout the year. Not blocking or just not selling a play fake to him. Ball in his hand only Kittle and CMC rival his effort.

He was sub par the year before too.

I'd rather trade DBo & keep Aiuk

I think most would prefer Aiyuk over Deebo right now, mostly because Deebo can't stay healthy, but hopefully we keep both for at least one more season.

I think health is a big concern and IMO, his performance has slipped and Aiyuk's is ascending.

His cap hit is enormous. And I don't think we're getting enough production to justify it.

Kinda disagree with not getting enough production. We simply have a ton of great talent and one football.

Deebo is a vibe. He's the heart of this team and help create the culture here. He doesn't need 15 touches a game to be affective. Personally I'd rather give him an extension to push cash down the road vs trade/cut him in a year.

don't understand the hate for our guy. We win the SB and not a single person is saying anything about him.

I would love to keep him but to me it's not about the production, at some point it does not make sense financially. We would have 2 high-priced wide receivers a High priced TE and running back and pretty soon quarterback. At some point we need to get some rookies or lower priced veterans in to balance it out and invest more in the offensive line. Although we have had great success we still have not been able to win it all.
I would be curious what percent of our cap is used on Offense/Defense minus the specialist.

Deebo is the WR version of Jimmy G. Jimmy G was a locker room culture guy as well. Teammates lived him. However, like Jimmy G his on field production doesn't match the contract. Like Jimmy G we need to relieve ourselves of that contract for a younger cheaper version. You literally made the argument the other day about moving on from older stars.

I disagree with you about the SB part as well. Had we won a SB with this core I think it would be easier to move on from the contracts we need to move on from. We wouldn't be hanging on because of culture. The culture would have been set. We instead would be looking at production vs cost like we should be doing regardless of player.
