I agree with him, JJ isn't a slot WR on the vast majority of NFL teams. He's slot here as a run blocker. He doesn't separate. He can make the contested catch. He's a big, physical dude. He caught 19 passes during the season.

I agree with him, JJ isn't a slot WR on the vast majority of NFL teams. He's slot here as a run blocker. He doesn't separate. He can make the contested catch. He's a big, physical dude. He caught 19 passes during the season.

A big physical WR that doesn't separate is a slot Wr for the vast majority.

Same here. The casual fan base will be pissed. But the reality is that we can't pay everyone. And based on performance I'd rather pay aiyuk than deebo. Newton is my top target , but if we get JPJ I'd love that too.

JJ is a traditional redzone, short yardage Split End.... SP is a more traditional slot or Flanker...

That is all grey as hell in today's NFL.....but football is football....you still have near hash mark and far hash marks...you sill have targets operating with different levels of field at their disposal.

I personally wish the 49ers would not run as many condense formations as they run ( for the blocking/crackback block rules), I like the offense to be more spread out to give the QB easier reads....but it will give the the smaller/quicker WRs types.. more room to work routs to the boundary, but make it harder for guys like JJ to run the same routs to the same points.

will be very interesting to see how they use these guys this year....see who can stay on the field.

I think JJ is a much better WR than we give him the opportunity to be.

I would prefer they trade Deebo if it's possible. They only save about $7 million against this years' cap but they would save $28 mil next year when they are going to pay Brock. someone will need to go.

Pearsall hasn't proved a thing yet. As of right now, he's currently receiver #4

1st round is over. Nobody is gettin traded. Aiyuk getting signed in August the latest. Enjoy the draft.

If they do decide to part with Deebo maybe it could be just enough for us to go grab a player like Justin Simmons and solidify our safety group. We could probably sign him to a 2 year deal worth 20mil with the second yr being an option year and obviously this year the cap hit would be a lot lower maybe something like 6mil-7mil and give him maybe 12 mil fully guaranteed. With that our defensive back end is a lot stronger this year and if he decides to stay the next year also and we wouldnt have to pick that position in the draft.

The problem with trading a player like Deebo is that the Niners probably value him more than most other teams. Trades are fun to talk about but everything has to mesh. The right tem that has an offense that can use the player. A decent QB. nough cap room to fit him in. Enough draft capitl to make the Niners willing to part with him.

Next year is more likely but I wonder if the Niners lose leverage. Teams will know they need the cap space for Purdy so they may try and low ball them. Never a dull moment in the NFL.
