Listening to local sports talk radio (Pittsburgh) and they were discussing trading for either Aiyuk or Deebo. One guy said he'd rather Deebo says he's physical and steelers want to run more and he's the best WR blocker since Hines Ward

This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen
Especially if you remember week 1 against Pittsburgh BA running to block for CMC to spring him

If they do decide to part with Deebo maybe it could be just enough for us to go grab a player like Justin Simmons and solidify our safety group. We could probably sign him to a 2 year deal worth 20mil with the second yr being an option year and obviously this year the cap hit would be a lot lower maybe something like 6mil-7mil and give him maybe 12 mil fully guaranteed. With that our defensive back end is a lot stronger this year and if he decides to stay the next year also and we wouldnt have to pick that position in the draft.

That would be the only way I would be OK with this. Upgrading the defense, and the offense takes a smaller hit. At least Kittles role will grow if Deebo is gone. However, losing the best playmaker in the NFL with the ball in his hands is a huge loss

Deebo is either a 49er or Commie. I don't see anyone else
He's not going anywhere

This is the prob I doubt other GMs are gonna pay draft capital to take on a big contract for a hybrid RB / WR that has some wear and tear. Other clubs don't even employ hybrid RB / WRs. They want a true WR like BA, if anything.

Yup. Lets be real. Your talking about paying 25 million for what ideally would be your WR #2 on your roster. Now for some teams, Deebo would be the best WR on the roster currently. But still other teams know that Deebo is not a true #1. That becomes a hard player to trade during the draft, when teams are hoping they are able to solve those problems then. I honestly think we would have much better luck dealing him during the season. During the season I think his value will rise as there will be plenty of teams who failed to solve their WR problem in this draft..

Just to make sure you saw the link in the post… teams have called to check on deebo.

"teams have called about deebo"

the zone: "I know for a fact no one wants deebo"

No one offered a first round pick for Aiyuk after half the webzone said they'd turn around anything lower than a 1st and 3rd. We probably don't get a 2nd round pick for Deebo if we trade him.

This all might be BS. But it does seem like Aiyuk would have at least cost a middle first, and even that might not of got it done. This is speculation but it does almost seem like if a team offered a second that would have gotten it done for Deebo and so far those offers are not there. I have little doubt that there is a team that would trade for Deebo. But for what is the question? And would that be enough for us to pull the trigger right now?
