The guy is far from perfect. He has flaws (i.e beating man coverage) BUT this guy comes up big in some important games (i.e. last game, Eagles game last year, etc).

There were hundred different things (Shanahan coaching timid, Purdy not seeing the field and being TO machine, special teams, etc) that you can criticize after that game but lets go after a guy that has been the soul of this team the last couple years without knowing what's truly wrong with this guy.

Some of our fans are straight trash. We deserve the nickname "whiner" fans.

Agreed. And oddly I don't think I have seen a single post recanting or apologising. One or two posters are standing on the edge right now, but judging from previous experiences they will keep their heads down for a week or two before returning and carrying on.

Hoping he gets well. Depends on the severity of the pneumonia but if he was hospitalized he may have some significant infiltration on his imaging.

Regardless, he will make a 100% recovery but I doubt he can play against the Cowboys and probably should be held out til after the bye.

And this right here is an opinion we can trust! The WZ's resident doctor!

Thanks. I usually stay away from the orthopedic/sports injuries though because it riles up too many people. Also pneumonia is more of my specialty.

My man.

Always a pleasure fro. I need a fro post to get through that last game lol

Edit- and of course like I said for yeeears about our *online* fanbase. Folks talked s**t about him struggling walking off the field, are straight embarrassing and don't deserve to cling on with the team. Just horrible horrible people.

A lot of sports takes are so reactionary they dont even want to wait to hear what was actually wrong. I heard some of these takes and ngl some were very disappointing.

Deebo has carried this team many times on his back. He is a captain for a reason.

He's got pneumonia and was hospitalized for it. He's out for at least a couple of weeks even if they haven't come out and said it yet.
At least it isn't diverticulitis, which is bad and what I thought. Big ol' gut. Get well soon Deebo.

I know, I had walking pneumonia before. Its a wild feeling. I don't care how healthy you or not that can take a bad turn quick. I guess no news is good news.
One of the bad things about getting pneumonia is it damages the lungs enough that it makes getting it again easier. How quickly he heals and gets back in actin depends on whether he has bacterial or viral pneumonia. Bacterial can be more complicated and harder to treat. There are actually about 30 kinds of pneumonia.

Fuuuuuk, I wonder in 2020 when I was coughing a lot but didn't go to the doctor if that's what I had. Before 2020 my Jiu Jitsu was frickin fantastic, now I gas out faster and it's hard to breath.

It's a scary feeling when you breath, but don't feel like you are getting enough air. I went from thinking its nothing, to a little congestion or cold, then like overnight it was like wait a minute something is wrong, but I can walk? But I don't feel right, cold sweats etc. oh snap.... let me go to the doc asap lol I see him later that day and he's like yeah buddy your lungs are nuked. Not sure if that makes sense unless you've been in that same boat. When I saw Deebo's face during the game and his eyes... I knew that look. He was nervous and knew his body didn't feel right.

My guess and hope is an athlete like Deebo will bounce back fine in no time.

You usually do more than just cough. Typically you will also get a fever (mine was 103) and feel very weak because you have trouble breathing. When your lungs get filled with fluid you can't get enough oxygen, hence the weakness. You also get dizzy. It's way worse than a cough or cold. It's one of the leading causes of death in hospitalized patients. Many of the Covid deaths resulted when the virus got into the lungs and caused pneumonia.

That's good to hear but that doesn't mean he'll be able to play Sunday. He could still be coughing and have fluid in his lungs. It can take some time to clear that up. We don't know how severe it was. They often put players in the hospital for things most of us would just take care of at home. They don't worry about the cost.
How did he get this in the first place though? He's a young and in shape athlete. I would think he's low risk for this. Yeah I realize anybody can get it. But his immune system should be strong enough to handle this before it became a big issue.
