When a team is missing their top receiver the other team is able to take away the other receivers much easier. That's happened to the Niners. Deebo isn't great at getting open and now with Aiyuk out he's often getting the best defender on him.

This. People really don't consider this but it's a huge factor.

it doesn't help no doubt but he wasn't getting open in the SB with BA

He was injured with a bad leg in the Super Bowl and limping around.

T.O. Just being brutally honest like he always is.

baring an act of god type production for the rest of the year, this will be Deebos last in a Niners uniform

Is fairness...Deebo has had several signature Deebo-ish chunk yardage plays for TDs wiped out by flags this year

It's fair to say Deebo might be in decline, but he has still had some good moments
Why would some ignore the injuries he's suffered and also playing through, especially respiratory?

it might just be that Deebo is banged up so often...people just consider that what ever version of deebo that can make it on the field... is who deebo is now.

I think Deebo is banged up enough an argument could be made that he is not going to get a Jordan Flu game, or TO superbowl type foot note recorded when he plays hurt.

I dont know if that is right or wrong, but it appears some people feel that way.

His biggest problem seems just getting open. Which is pretty important for a wide receiver. It seems he has to be schemed open. Also his running the ball is atrocious and has been for a couple of years.

I always think about the Superbowl against the chargers.....

Jerry seldom, if ever came off the field. Dude was an ironman. It is really hard to compare anyone to Jerry just because Jerry was a monster, but also the dude was never hurt (until he was).

anyway....the superbowl.... 49ers offense set records against a really good Chargers team. There was however...a 3 and out series that went nowhere...it was the series Jerry was on the sideline.

Even a historically great offense, could not deal with loosing its best WR on the fly. The crazy part was, when Jerry went down...who was the next guy off the bench? The next guy up as the 49ers love to say... Ed McCaffery... so they lost the best WR of all time, but plugged in a dude who would START on most the teams in the NFL.

They didn't put Jerry in the backfield to play RB. Of the few times they did use him for the end around one was the time he got hurt and tore up his knee. They also didn't put Jerry back for kickoff returns. Shany loves to beat up Deebo. He over uses him. Just like CMC.

You don't tow a trailer with a Lambo....

Kinda goes without saying....

Deebo is no Jerry....

Deebo is/was an impact player they needed to get creative with to get the ball in his hands. If Deebo was a dude you could just line up at WR and run an offense through him the story would have been different

You could make an argument for over use, but the flip side is both Deebo and CMC have remarkably high cap values, I am sure the team is giving this money with the expectations of touches.

BTW....CMC...touches per game are DOWN on the 49ers....he saw higher usage on the Panthers.
Deebo is the same WR he has always been. He's just being exposed now because the things he did that made him elite he no longer has. He was never a good route runner but it was ok because he made all those special plays when he had the ball in his hands. But he's not even doing that anymore. When's the last time he broke multiple tackles and turned them into huge gains? These days he is having trouble breaking one tackle. Deebo is kinda useless if he doesn' have those special gadget plays.

Agreed , he got out of shape and went downhill fast after the 2021 season

He's injured all the time now. He needs to go.
This guy should probably start worrying about himself and lack of production
Deebo is a broken-down shell of himself now.

He is carrying so many injuries, he still thinks he is big time but against good defences, he can't get open.

We went all in by paying players and this is what you get when they get long term injuries.
I knew his game wasn't going to age well but I was expecting the cliff to be after 30, not 28

Some brought on by himself. With his contract, plenty of money to pay for a personal trainer and chef.
