Deebo isn't that old. He's the type of player that could come back and have a big game against you. Still I agree that his value to the team right now has dropped a lot for whatever reason. What they could get in a trade depends on who the team is. A high 3rd rounder or 4th rounder would be a lot better than a low one.

Nothing else to discuss other than what they can get back?!

Deebo was a violent bruiser of a player. Violence and aggression are the most difficult qualities to retain year after year, especially after getting paid.

If he was highly skilled and focused…. Those two traits auto-renew

LOL

I thought 3 pumps was beast mode?
We aren't getting anything for Deebo. He'll be a post-june designated cut.
Amon-Ra St. Brown just made a big play to bring the Lions back to 14pts from tying it.

Those are the kinds of plays we will be missing when Deebo is not on the team anymore (and if we don't find someone similar before making that decision).

A playmaker that can take it to the house from almost anywhere on the field.... if we can find a way to get the ball to him in space.

Violence and aggression do not auto-renew. Not the way Deebo plays. Especially at the WR position.

So that is why it is (was!) important to save him from himself. A Head Coach needs to know how to maximize a playmaker's play making ability.. and preserve it overtime. Deebo came through for Kyle when we needed a homerun threat from the backfield when Mostert went down that one year. After that Kyle should have got away from the idea of using Deebo as a bruiser from the backfield. Let him beat up on cornerbacks and Safeties, not go up against big ass linemen and LBers running full speed into the backfield.

And yes I feel he would have still got his money if we primarily used him as a WR. In fact we might have increased his contract by making up this weird wide back position. And now Kyle feels he needs to justify his pay by running from from shotgun, at the expense of offensive production... and fan frustration.

Yes he did. But we have seen that in the past with playmakers... they start to press and lose concentration. It has happened with Purdy this season... this past game. If it were a common thing for him to have the droppsies in important parts of games, then yeah I would worry.

old washed up players don't take kicks, and especially take kicks to the other side of the field

Then make him the kick returner the rest of this season. You gonna pay 30 million for a kick returner?

no, but he's not a kick returner. he's a playmaker who's having a down season, just like everyone else on the team.

Kittle isn't having a down season. Deebo is taking targets away from the best playmaker. Deebo has never been able to replicate his 2021 season or even his rookie year. 2023 he was decent but not as good as those two years. Keeping trying to feed Deebo the ball and the team loses just like in the SB and this season.

TE's are always a safety valve for QBs

in 2021, deebo had to turn into a RB due to a QB who couldn't throw to the outside. Made Aiyuk look like a expendable player even though Aiyuk was getting open most of the time.

move forward to this year and we have a QB who's having a down year and making a lot of mistakes (compared to the two years prior). I've shown plays where Deebo is open and the ball is going elsewhere. The reason the ball went elsewhere was due to another open guy. There's only one ball and it can't go to everyone. Now the time Deebo has gotten the ball he has shot himself in the foot. but so has everyone else.

one down year is not enough in my eyes..
