in 2021, deebo had to turn into a RB due to a QB who couldn't throw to the outside. Made Aiyuk look like a expendable player even though Aiyuk was getting open most of the time.

move forward to this year and we have a QB who's having a down year and making a lot of mistakes (compared to the two years prior). I've shown plays where Deebo is open and the ball is going elsewhere. The reason the ball went elsewhere was due to another open guy. There's only one ball and it can't go to everyone. Now the time Deebo has gotten the ball he has shot himself in the foot. but so has everyone else.

one down year is not enough in my eyes..

Deebo hasn't capitalized on the opportunities he's been given so that's on him. He can't be whining on social media either because the targets are there. And those targets cost them the game against the Rams. If he's so good and dominant then he would be producing whether it's from handoffs or when it's thrown to him. I just think it's time to move on from him and stop force feeding him the ball. Try giving the ball to someone younger and more burst such as Jacob Cowing.

he wasn't whining that he wasn't getting the ball, it's a response to dumb fans saying he isn't doing anything. No one can produce if they don't get the ball.

The times he has gotten the ball he has to go through 3 or 4 guys to make something happen. no one can survive that and he's been getting injured due to it.

Now this last game i can't really defend him, but he didn't looks slow. He had oppts to take it to the house and just dropped it.

He said he doesn't get opportunities. Dude has the second most touches on the team.

like i mentioned.. in those touches he needs to take on the entire defense, not all touches are equal

Attitude and work ethic will last you your entire life but physical attributes is short lived.

He had plenty of time to adjust and adapt knowing RB won't last long and the guy clearly wanted to be paid like a WR. I have no sympathy for him but hoped he performed better hence the team would have been better. Ironically the "toughest" bully on the team has to be coddled the most.

Fumbles drops and tipped interceptions.
We all love the idea of Deebo and his special skills. The problem is the reality of Deebo. He is never going to be the guy we want him to be. Age, injuries and his aggressive style have caught up to him. Move him while you can get something back. Yuk might be in a similar position next year. He suffered bad injuries that may permanently diminish his abilities.

This is the correct answer. Also, even at his peck Deebo was never a great route running and ball catching WR. As his physical tools declined he couldn't rely on his fundamentals because, well, his fundamentals in route running suck.

He's also dropped the ball way too much. Deebo has been awful this year even if some of what you're saying is true

I also said that he also didn't help himself when he did get quality touches, especially this last game

This season has been bad for Deebo Samuel in just about every way imaginable. Does he no longer have the explosiveness and power that defined his game these past number of years? Or is it one bad season? Given how much money he makes and the structure of his contract it's going to be quite difficult to rid themselves of Deebo until after next season. The difficult thing here is that, at this point, Deebo Samuel is now taking away reps that should be going to Ricky Pearsall. The challenge is how they deal with Samuel considering the team might not have Aiyuk for a considerable portion of next year.

This is what happens when you overpay a WR or anyone else for that matter. One injury and the team can be stuck with a boat anchor. Long term deals with guaranteed money are a bad idea for football. Great for the players but bad for the team.

yup. coddled by coach. lynch has to come down and send off campbell. meanwhile deebo chokes our guy and coach is saying oh that shows how great he is

don't think so coach, deebo needed a head check a month ago and didn't get it. mismanagement

and btw, maybe if deebo gets his head right a month ago, he doesn't act out on social media and make a complete fool of himself, but alas..

I think its safe to say the entire offense had underperformed this year, but Deebo has certainly not done much if at all to help this fact.

Just to offer a more broad view he's 3rd on the team in targets. League wide he's sandwiched at 57 between Xavier Leggete and DeAndre Hopkins. Not exactly target stealing as some state here. Most of us would agree that the running plays gotta go.

As far as the drops he's ranked 22 with 5. It's on par with a guy who's had 3 seasons of 9+ drops.
