Ok then.

Sure....But how will that show on the field? What will it look like? How will he play different? Will he run faster? He has, in multiple games this season, ran as fast as he did in his rookie year (2019). 20+mph. So he still has his speed.

Will he somehow break more tackles? What will he do this offseason that will allow him to break more tackles, than he usually breaks? It just seems this season defenses have been all over him as soon as he got the ball... selling out really. It's like they see the play coming. I don't expect him to some how miraculously get out of those tackles next year.

Will he demand the ball more than he gets already?

If he looks better next year, imo it will be because Kyle makes changes and our offense shows more rhythm/flow. But again, if yall remember how our offense used to look. We would have one reciever that puts up stats (120+ yards receiving)... then the next week it would be someone else... then the week after that it would be someone else. Be it Deebo, Kittle, Aiyuk, and of course CMC. So I wouldn't expect Deebo to have 100 yards a game receiving week after week. Kyle's offense (at least 9ers offense) hasn't worked like that.

I feel like you must have never played competitive sports, to not understand the point about effort. Sure he can reach top speed on ONE play where he's breaking away untouched, that doesn't mean that he's giving full effort on every play. The complete lack of broken tackles is one place where we see lack of effort. Missed blocks. Drops (indicative of lack of focus and/or lack of practice during the week). Penalties.

Until of course last week, with the season over, he sensed the need to make a mark on everyone's mind and actually play hard. Breaking tackles, focused and inspired play. How can you possibly not see the difference between last week and the rest of the season?

Obvious and frustrating to say the least.

2 reasons Deebo is staying next year:

1. Aiyuk will not be ready by week 1 so we need Deebo regardless of what people think of his dip in performance

2. Shanahan loves him

3. That contract is very hard to move and we would have to eat up a lot of it if it does happen.

Ya really hard to see a scenario were he's not here

True. Even if we move off after June 1, to get some money freed up, the draft capital we get would not go toward anything this year

I can't believe we extend this guy for big money. He takes about 14/17 games off. Then plays for 3 when he gets enough criticism. He's coasting and making career decisions. Instead of laying it all on the line. Possibly a little left in the tank. But not as much as he used to. Mostly he just doesn't take the risks or play hard anymore.
Take the cap hit and just get rid of him. Especially if he shows nothing these last 2 games

Do you know what the cap hit would be and how would that affect us going into FA?
