It is very hard to predict healing time for this specific fracture. That area of the foot has the lowest blood circulation of any place in the foot. From what I have read, 12 weeks is the average time for complete healing.

Considering overuse is the most common cause for this type of fracture, the chances of an early comeback would seem slim. You just don't take chances with the feet of a young, talented player like Deebo.
He'll be ready for the season bc it won't be played on time, plus let's be positive, thank god it wasn't his knee.
Just a bummer of notification
Hopefully this isn't a major issue going forward. I think he can be a 1200yd/yr receiver for his career if healthy.

Jones surgery on foot

This doc says weeks 8-9 after surgery for D1 Athletes.

How did that work out for Trent Taylor last season?

Not well considering he had to have the surgery redone and then he had to fight off a million infections.

They got this. Just make it clear that no one else is authorized to get hurt.

That group isn't scaring anyone. Hopefully we can trade for a proven vet WR like we did last year.

I have lost faith in el Gato. I am hoping Jennings surprises people and makes the final 6. I can see them keeping Benjamin since we need a veteran prescience.
Deebo says he will be back in 10 wees better than ever.

Calling players are question marks is like saying "I don't know".

How do you get from "I don't know" to worried?

Concerned would be knowing we are going into the season with no talent what so ever.

This group has talent and multiple seasons within this offense in Bourne, Taylor, Pettis, James, and Hurd (on IR).

Dude what? When you have players that you cannot count on for whatever reason, they are question marks. So when you have a team full of question marks, how can you not be worried?

Yes, we have talent in the WR corps, no question. But we have nothing that is proven outside of Bourne (and only proven as a #3). Not sure how that isnt concerning to people.

If you're saying that you're worried because of the injury history of the players we have then I have no problem being "concerned"

But we just drafted a 1st round WR and have spent a lot of draft capital on the position outside of Deebo.

You're on a forum. IMO it's lazy to form a negative opinion based solely on inexperience when year after year young players become the some of the best players on the team.

So again..

Concerned about injury history?

No issue.

Concerned about capabilities?

Lazy

Agree on all points here.
f**k these are killers for WR's. I think this is what AJ Green had of late and he's never been the same since.
I hope this doesn't to turn into mess. Jones fractures suck.

It's gonna happen all over the league this season.

Usually I chuckle at these kinds of general statements but in this case, i think you're right. Players operate on consistent schedules to fine tune their bodies for long seasons. Everything is thrown off right now and we could see a, ummmm, 'pandemic' of injuries this season across the league. Last team standing.

OK, seriously. Who is David in here? Name yourself.

Hopefully his youth will play a part in a speedy recovery.

Jesus SMH. Ok let me elaborate.

Deebo: High expectations after a great rookie year. But its not unfathomable that he could have experienced a sophomore slump like countless others have. Now he is having surgery for an injury that kept Trent Taylor out all season. Add that up and you get a question mark (which would have been substantially smaller of a question mark without the injury).

Hurd: Missed his only professional season with a back injury. He looks to be recovered, but who knows. He could very easily get hurt again because of a hit to the back. That equals a question mark.

Taylor: Taylor hasnt been on the field in 2 seasons. Completely unreliable player that cannot be counted on. Calling him a question mark is being generous.

Aiyuk: Very talented rookie who has never set foot on an NFL field. Cant call him anything more than a talented question mark.

RJJ: I really like him. I think if he had more opportunities, he would produce more. But that me making a guess. He hasnt been able to make any sort of impact as a WR on this team aside from a couple splash plays. Another question mark.

Pettis: Pettis had a nice rookie season and was completely useless in year 2. I hope he has a better season this year, but you absolutely cannot rely on him to.

Benjamin: Cuttable player. Had 6 catches last season. Not a reliable player in the slightest.

Jennings: Probably wont make the team. Tough but slow as s**t..

Bourne: I love Bourne. You can absolutely count on him as a quality #3 WR. But there is a good chance he will be asked to play at a higher WR spot, at least early on. We can all project that he will be fine, but we really dont know.

I know I didnt explicitly spell all of this out, but I didnt think that someone would interpret me saying every player is a question mark as me saying they all have the exact same reasons they are question marks.

We have a roster full of question marks, and you calling me lazy doesnt change that.

I'm in the conservative camp too esp. for a WR who'll be cutting on a dime in this offense.

Taylor had rare complications involving multiple infections. Nothing about his situation was close to typical. Virtually any injury that requires surgical intervention presents the risk of complications due to infection but how often does it actually happen?

If you want to put some money down betting on Deebo having those same complications, I'm game.
