If the doctors clears him. Why not play him? Maybe not every single play but maybe 30-40% of offensive snaps depending on his conditioning and how he feels. Deebo's presence alone should put fear into the Cardinals secondary. Hide yo chains!!

We signed Jesus Christ? Holy s**t, he's got to be good for at least a thousand, right?

Play him for sure.

We lose one good player a week anyway so I don't think it makes a difference

That's probably what happens....like 30% workload, if he plays.

Dude has had no off season practice to get in football shape. That's a pulled hammy waiting to happen (something he dealt with in college).

So even if his doctors look at imaging and say he is 100% healed AND he has responded well to extensive training (by all accounts he has)... we should still hold him out? Based on what? Emotion? PTSD? Awful comparisons to Taylor's entirely different recovery?

If you still want to hold him about DESPITE the doctor's blessing (should he receive it) just admit your option is based on fear and not logic. He's 12 weeks post injury. If the doctor clears him, he's fine.

some think we can just show up and other teams will just roll over.. on the contrary.... because of what the niners did last year. they will get everyones best shot. every week. and as you said.. if he gets cleared... there is no reason. none to not play him because he is a huge piece of our pie

Dude WTF..
No one has said this s**t at all. An extra week or two off giving more time for the foot to heal is never a bad plan.

I've been having second thought about this. I've been leaning to sit Deebo and Aiyuk to 1 or 2 games but I've also been agreeing to the idea of if you're cleared to go you gotta go. However, these two like Kittle, are ones of our foundational pieces in our offense. They should be treated with a lot of care and protection as the team's long term investment. Don't get me wrong, we want to win now and win as many games as possible and get that SIX, but we should also be extremely smart in making a decision on something like this one.

when you got people who said.. we do not need deebo to win the first two games.... that is saying.. we can just show up and the other team will roll over.

kittle probably should have set more than he did last year but he was cleared and he played and as we saw.. we needed him... we need deebo as bad as kittle in my opinion
Deebo hasn't had a real practice since June when he fractured his foot. I doubt that he's in game shape.

Yeah agreed.

I expect to see a ton of 2 TE sets and passes to our RBs. Gonna run right at them.

They were one of the worst teams at defending TEs and pass catching backs last yr.

Simmons is gonna get a rude awakening to the NFL week 1.

No we don't. Not this week.

I'm expecting Kittle/Reed to eat. I'm expecting our run game to do work. I'm expecting to see our RBs used in the passing game more.

I'd like for Deebo to get at the very least a full week of practices before going full Deebo mode...that a recipe for a soft tissue injury imo
