Think he's being sarcastic

Nope that's what he truly believes. Just like he believes that the offensive line sucks even though they played well.

Hopefully this isn't the case but something like this could linger throughout the year even if he does suit up.

they shouldn't have let him press for week 1 start

lmao. What has NC done to you? You seem to have a personal vendetta against him.
Hope the setback doesn't turn into the horror that Taylor went through last year.

You were right mayo. He had a setback.

Guess it depends on who you ask

It was a pipe dream having him 100% week 1

The soreness not just going away, but getting worse is a tad concerning. Fingers crossed
Sign some back ups in the mean time because they need help in the WR Corp. Pettis ain't it
You know who's healthy and has a touchdown already? Sanders....

Has to be set back. how could he be so close to playing and now, he's out 3 games?

Samuel's setback: Wide receiver Deebo Samuel was placed on short-term injured reserve Saturday because he had a setback last week in his attempt to return from a broken foot he suffered in mid-June.

The 49ers initially had optimism Samuel could play in Sunday's season opener. However, Samuel's foot became sore after running one day and the pain intensified.

"It just got worse and worse after one specific day," Shanahan said. "After one day when it was sore, we thought it was just because he worked it hard. But then that got worse each day, not better."

Samuel is eligible to return in Week 4 when the 49ers host the Eagles on Oct. 4. Shanahan didn't commit to Samuel missing just three games.

"We're really hoping to get him back by the Eagles game," Shanahan said. "But we've got to see how this heals and how it goes right now."

if there is a fracture shown on the x-rays, it could be another 12 weeks. Not sure I blame Shanahan, I would be excited at the prospect of having him back for game 1.

What I said months ago. Predictable and stupid. This will end up being a chronic condition.

Yup, many felt this way. May have jeopardized this year.
