So if he doesn't play rest of the season then have some bogus surgery or claim he's still hurt and it lasts past his guaranteed deadline until he's "healthy" then we're on the hook.

I have no clue if my assumption is 100% correct but I believe that was what Kaepernick did or was rumored to be his best option.

Obviously, Jimmy playing or not playing may not have any bearing on if he can be designated as healthy or not but.....

It depends if he has a injury clause. I wouldn't say Kap had bogus surgeries, but I think he held them off to play some hardball with Baalke (who was itching to cut him and start the Blaine era).

This is why Kap was never "healthy enough" to start in 2016, until he magically was — the week he got rid of his injury clause. Then Baalke could let him play and run around without Kap screwing him.

If Jimmy claimed he was healthy enough to play and the doctors agree then he's no longer injured. They don't need to play him to prove he isn't. On the other hand, if they play him and he sustains a more severe injury like another ACL or torn ankle ligaments, then they can't release him next year because he would still be injured.
Deebo is looking like another 49er that is loaded with talent but can't stay healthy. Looking at his lower body, he has heavily muscled legs which help him when he runs thru tackles but may also make him susceptible to muscle pulls.

Dude did miss significant time in college too

What makes you think muscular legs make one more susceptible to muscle pulls?

I see it a lot in track where runners have really well developed legs but they are so tight that they can tweak them really easily. It just seems like he's had a lot of muscle strains since he's been here. He also has a foot problem. I guess when you run hard like he does and absorb a lot of contact it increases the chance of injury.
I'm always skeptical when someone says a player is injury prone. It probably is the case that he has some muscle imbalances that make him susceptible to hamstring strains, but I don't see how an offseason training regimen can't fix that. Seems like he just needs to change his workout habits.

Need to shut Jimmy down, too.

What?

If Jimmy is healthy play him. He's paid to play.

I guess catching thousands of tennis balls really helped this guy get in shape huh ??

Yeah had nothing to do with not being able to run
It's pretty simple what happened to Deebo. He never had the time to get into football shape. He hurts his foot, comes back and tries to get into football shape and hurt his hammy. It's clear the hammy never fully healed.

That's not how it works dude.

Soft tissue injures like hammy pulls happen due to being out of shape, not because he has muscular legs lol.

He missed all of OTAs and like what 6 weeks of football? He had no time to get into real football shape. We see this happen all the time.

It's not anything crazy...it's a reason why all the training camps OTAs & preseason are actually important.

He's not been in top shape all season - he's been out with his broken foot, then a couple of nagging hamstring injuries. I think he'll be fine after a normal offseason and come back stronger than ever in '21.
