I remind those worried about injuries...Frank Gore had a huge history of injuries in college, yet he's been one of the most durable RB's in league history. Deebo will be fine...give the dude a chance to show what he's got, which is plenty of talent.

Please don't use Frank to prove people with injury issues will be fine. Frank is not the norm, not close to it.

He for sure does. And Deebos tape is beautiful. But Kyle has a big problem with weighing out positives and negatives. He loved joe Williams tape so much that he ignored the negatives. Did the same with foster.

Deebo has a long injury history. Was he so much better than AJ that he's worth the risk for injuries ? Time will tell.

It can go both ways, there are players who have never been injured in college and when they get to the NFL, they're injury magnets.

I recall Bruce Ellington was always injured, but I dont know his college injury history, but that guy took a while to get on the field.

I'd bet on average that players who are injured more in college , tend to have more injuries in the nfl. Otherwise, it wouldn't even be mentioned in scouting reports
Hmm, Chiefs just took Mecole Hardman over Butler, Metcalf, Boykins, Arcega-Whiteside... Did I forget to mention he's 5'10"

That's not my issue at all lmao . When did I ever say that

I heard the same thing about tomsula and baalke for years.

This is a discussion board. If its "just trust the FO" then shut it down.

It was pretty clear to anyone following the pre-draft process that the team felt that WR was a major need. You basically had Pettis, Goodwin and Trent Taylor.

If you're surprised that they took a WR, that is on you. People in the draft media that were citing the 49ers needs generally put WR near the top because it was clearly an area that needed a boost. Teams like Pittsburgh have had success drafting WRs in the 2nd or 3rd almost every single year. In a passing league it is a position of critical importance.

No way Deebo lasted till 3rd or 4th rd.

Based on WRs not taken yet I'm pretty confident he'd be there at top of 3rd. My comment about 4th is because that's where I think he should be drafted. He's a WR/slot/PR/KR/RB kind of player. First 3 rounds need to excel at 1 position and translates that into a NFL starting role.

Matthews is not now nor has ever been a #1 WR. He's a solid #3 or a pretty good #4. He's a big slot and little else.

This is not music to my ears, but it's not just Deebo...

Ford. Kwon. Bosa. Weston. Will this regime ever get a high draft pick or top free agent who doesn't have a history

I wish they would stop following Trent Baalke's footsteps

They replaced their bro science performance guys. Maybe that helps some.

I am okay with looking at injury histories on a case-by-case basis. But, I agree that they seem to be gambling on injury as much as Baalke. HOF potential is great, but no one made the HOF sitting out games.

If Samuel and Bosa don't end the season on IR or miss a significant amount of time, I'll be so relieved. I pray for our next pick.

At least with QW (he hurt people, doesn't feel pain), the only concern I had...passing out walking from the locker to the field

Freaking loving this draft!!!

Agree! Two needs met. Edge rusher and more depth at wr.

Just need that baller DB and we're good. Everyone else is depth with a potential to find that hidden gem. Let's go!!!

This guy is going to be great in the short and intermediate passing game, which is the strength of our QB. I think he puts up big numbers.

I hope we address CB in round 3.

You dont need tremendous speed when operating the WCO the way you need that kind of speed in the Sid Gillman/air coryell offense.

From just glancing at his NFL bio, he'll do fine. I'm looking for either a DB pick or an OLine pick in the next couple of rounds.
So it looks like Kyle will use him as a primary Z (Bourne had 600 snaps there), in the slot, lots of slants/posts, gadget-WR out of the backfield, run blocking, kick returner, etc.

Lol but just because you think a WR was better doesn't mean NFL teams agree with you

I mean, Bosa was a SAFE pick because he was available, but to REACH for another SLOT receiver??

Step 1) listen to what moon says
Step 2) disregard whatever moon just said ... do the exact opposite
Step 3) Acquire currency
Step 4) Laugh and laugh and laugh

Step 5) Don't stop laughing. Don't ever....

I think he will play mostly outside. I think we will even see some Pettis in the slot. Guy is powerful with the ball in his hands and off the line. He's not the tallest but he's powerful. He's similar to young Garçon but more explosive and Garçon played on the outside.

You're assuming that your rankings are correct. In reality, fans are mostly clueless on valuing players properly. You had many people here advocating for Metcalf to go in the early 1st. We're almost in the 3rd round and he and Butler are both still on the board.
