lol, I'm with ya man. I hope they prove me wrong, but I hate that this is their prototype.

I hate that this is their prototype too. Can't we have just 1 big WR on this team? I know 2 is too much to ask for.

I don't think Lynch / Shanahan are good at working the draft.
Could have traded back and got Deebo plus a 3rd

At least that's what you think. How many years of NFL coaching experience do you have?
Why do people always assume X player would have lasted till X pick. Thats the worst draft philosophy there is. You like a guy, you go get that guy. Had he not broken his leg he would of had another all SEC season and would be a sure fire first rounder. Betting after the weekend we will find out some teams had him much higher than the draft prognosticators.

You're assuming that your rankings are correct. In reality, fans are mostly clueless on valuing players properly. You had many people here advocating for Metcalf to go in the early 1st. We're almost in the 3rd round and he and Butler are both still on the board.

My assessment is purely that he's not a defined X, Z, slot or special teamer. Generally speaking the first 3 rounds are dominated by single position players who have a chance to start at a similar role. Drafting tweeners, multi-position and depth happens in rounds 4 .
Bet ya he starts on our team sooner rather then later. Did you say the same thing last year about Pettis? Oh he's primarily a punt/kick returner and receiver second...

Yes I did, not to mention his slight frame and given his injuries last yet not sure why you're bringing him up here.

MK_Ultra have you not seen the run on WRs? No way Deebo lasted.

Our tradition of second round mediocrity continues. This was a horrible reach, there's like two studs in Brown and Metcalf, but we take another undersized kick returner who will get his butt whooped by nfl sized DBs. This WR core is so f**king mediocre, and full of glass midgets. Kittle is gonna have to bail us out again, ugh.

Remember this name, cause he'll be our grief speed bag when he rips his acl before week 2.

Nobody is picking DK, what do you guys know that all the gms don't??

A coach + GM with a .313 career winning pact, and two first round busts in 2017 doesn't make anybody a trusted guru. Or worse, two straight seasons not being able to lock up a 5 star FA talent, losing out to a better team.

I love this team with all my heart, but it's not 'troll' to question or doubt stuff once in a while.

It's a bs narrative that every teams fans use for some reason. I can't take it, so stupid. No guarantee anyone lasts, no one thought Metcalf would still be here at 64
Julian Edelman is 5'10 with average speed, lol. People are so obsessed with height its honestly stupid.

Height isn't everything.

Deebo has a 39 inch vertical... he can go up and get balls.

That is based entirely your opinion. The team has a specific role in mind for him. Much like the Broncos who took Dalton Risner who was a terrific OL prospect with an unknown NFL role. They'll likely have him play center in the NFL.

For the 49ers, Samuel is clearly the replacement for Garcon. He adds a physical dimension that the other receivers don't possess. The team also had the benefit of spending a week working with him at the Senior Bowl, running him through plays in their offense.

So you want to spend a high 2nd on a pure possession receiver? Hmmmmmm, not sure I agree that's the best use of draft capital.1

They still know way more than you about drafting, coaching, and football in general. It's an arrogant position to take that you know better than them what the team needs are.

I'll take 5'11 with a 39 inch vertical and the ability to make one handed catches on the regular over height/weight/speed guys with inconsistent hands that can only run 3 routes. I learned my lesson with Stephen HIll.

Lol because Pettis ended up being our second leading wide receiver in yards, tied for the team lead in receiving TDs (5) with Kittle and had the second best yards per reception (17.3) on our team last year (Celek topped him at 18 yards per reception due to him only having 5 catches). Pettis definitely showed some good potential just like I bet Deebo does despite your disdain for both of them.
