Give him top 4 contract, but top 3 guaranteed money. He would love that. It's not like it's my money.

No they haven't won a Super Bowl in almost 30 years because they haven't found an elite QB. The rest of our rosters that have almost pulled it off have been exceptionally well constructed.

I think that's the plan....I'm more interested to see what the FGTD cash is.
An extension is just that right. His last year on his rookie deal remains? So Jimmy is not the blocker. Unless they want to put a lot into a signing bonus up front?
You always want to spread the bonus over as many years as possible - at the very least. Paying backup QB 25M is wasteful.
Also - need to give a bigger contract to Bosa sometime this year or next.

Yes so a 3yr extension is basically having Deebo for 4 yrs. I mean the signing bonus is prorated through the life of the contract (up to 5 yrs I believe) So it's not a matter of upfront money when it comes to a signing bonus. A signing bonus is money they get at the signing but the actual cap hit of that cash is spread out. If you cut someone that's part of the DM.
You can give a large roster bonus year one if you want to front load the deal...we did that with Jimmy ($28M roster bonus).
Deebo is on the books right now for $4.9M. If they sign him I would imagine they would like to take advantage of this last cheap rookie year and toss some money into it to spread out that cap hit, and it would still be a fairly low cap hit.
Understood, thanks guys.

$25M Avg/Y seems reasonable.
I have no problems with Deebo wanting to be 4th highest and a little bit above Digg's Avg/YR. The FTGD I'm sure the 49ers FO will figure out too.

Definitely fair! I was thinking he wanted $30M. Good to know he doesnt want to be the highest paid WR just because. Pay the man!

Those numbers don't matter when really looking at players contracts.

No WR is making $30M I don't get why people keep bringing up that number

After all the s**t talking on Deebo for the past week, he isn't even asking to be the highest paid wr in the league. Bet ya'll feel s**tty right about now. Tell me he isn't worth top 5 money.

That list doesn't matter at all. Take away $50M from hill and $80M away from Adams from the total cash right away….they will never ever see that portion of their contracts.

I bet all the same folks who were s**tting all over Deebo all week are the same folks who want to pay a back up QB 26 million to ride the pine all season.

Right?
I mean, shoot, give him a 5 year $150M contract, with $75M guaranteed.
It's a 3 year deal at $25M/yr.

- NFL Pick 'em
One thing is for sure is we will find out within the next couple of weeks. If Deebo is to be traded it will happen before the draft. They aren't going to trade him after the draft. They are going to want picks to help them this year. So if he is here after April 29th it means they have some agreement on an extension or they are close.
