Its all posturing. The new thing is for agents to advise their clients to remove any indication of a team so that it causes an uproar in the media and fans to put pressure on the FO to make a deal. Occums razor would suggest that the were trying to pay him like a #5-10 receiver when he believes he is a top 5. Mostert did the same thing and a deal got done... and he wasnt even as valuable and had much more risk.
It's the offseason... all football writers have to write about is whatever tidbits of drama they can blow up for a few news cycles. Half of this BS is being blown up by one specific individual known for complete BS takes. Offseason news is pretty much crap unless its backed up with a police report lol. Otherwise its just trying to fill paper, or in todays world meet the quota for however many articles they need to get out per week.

Or, my guess is that Deebo did it because the FO told him he's getting traded and he's not even a niner anymore.
Nah.

Second-round picks that include WRs Deebo Samuel, A.J. Brown and Terry McLaurin are not expected to participate in their teams' on-field off-season programs because they want new contracts at a time this off-season when WR deals have exploded, per league sources.

2 of his 3 yrs he's played high end football. If we're bringing up the injury card then they should have never paid Trent, Kittle and shouldn't pay Bosa too money either.
you give big money for what you're gonna do in the future not just based off past performance.

If you're going to low ball him that bad, you might as well trade him to a team that actually appreciates what he brings to the game.

It's dumb...but if people only care about "APY" then give him 4 yrs $68M FULLY guaranteed. I'm guessing fans won't want that lol.

What perspective is that? We only draft and develop players. If they want to get paid and win rings, they have to go somewhere else?

Everyone is acting like they know exactly what the Niners have offered and what Deebo wants. I haven't seen anything but speculation based on what other receiver have gotten. Contract negotiations are always adversarial. In the end they usually end up with both parties smiling. I just hope Deebo doesn't skip all the camps because it's important for him to be there and take all the throws he can from Trey.

I know alot of reasons for trading has been posted. I only would if he wanted too much. I was at 22 mil/yr. I can talk myself into 25/yr. HOWEVER, I would not go a penny over that. Waaaay too much for a WR. If you sign him for too much there stands a chance You can't keep Aiyuk when his time comes. And if Aiyuk surpasses Deebo as our go to. Then we financially screwed the pooch.
Yes there is a chance you trade him and what you get in return don't turn out. Just as there is a chance if you trade him you improve your team.
The point of my initial post was, wanting to trade Deebo wouldn't make us any less of a fan than those who think we should pay him at all cost. We are just looking at roster construction from a different point of view. Yes some takes may leaving you scratching your head but there is more than one way to get to where we want to go.
