Before his new found RB role

Yeah dumb take. Deebo was balling all year, including the 4 game losing streak. He only took on the "RB role" due to injuries in the backfield, turned out he was pretty badass from out there too. People trying to say he's not a "Pure WR" as a reason not to pay him make themselves look really bad

Amazing how folks turn on a guy for wanting his money. He was looking at a 1700 yard year. Sacrificed his body for the betterment of the team. Carried the team into the playoffs. Our best offensive play maker that we drafted and developed. The guy wants what the market is demanding for his talents and folks want to ship him off and down play his contributions to he team. We got folks talking about extending BA and he hasn't shown anything near what Deebo has. Just boggles the mind.

Right? As if having positional flexibility is a bad thing. Who's better than Deebo with the ball in his hands? Who gives a flying f**k about pure WR. Gimme a player who can line up anywhere and can consistently get the ball in his hands. Just short sighted arguments against paying Deebo. We have a coach who can utilize him anywhere. We have a roster filled with flexible players that can play all over and that's by design. Deebo is a literal 4D chess queen piece.

100% agree.

No one knows if any of this is true. But he over reacts about basically everything.

And then some just blindly follow lynch and drink the bath water of the front office

you give big money for what you're gonna do in the future not just based off past performance.

Deebo's not worth it as a pure WR. Trade him.

What?
He led the league in receiving yards before Shanahan made him a RB.

He is easily a top 3 WR in the NFL.

If we don't find a way to extend Deebo I can see a majority of the fanbase losing faith in the front office. In particuarly, John Lynch. I am pretty sure a lot of us still have a bad taste in our mouths over the Buckner fiasco. As far as Aiyuk, that is a couple years down the road and by then the cap will have gone up significantly and other things can be done to make that extension happen.

IMO the only thing Lynch did wrong on the Buckner trade was draft Kinlaw. We needed and should have traded down from 13 for more picks to supplement our roster. Essentially trading him straight up for Kinlaw was never going to look good. Um! Aiyuk will be in line for an extension starting next year. He will be in the same situation as Deebo is this year. So if Aiyuk goes off for 1300 yards 10+ TD's we now have to pay 2 WRs over 25/yr.

EDIT: my bad forgot Aiyuk went in the 1st

Nice problem to have.
Some people don't understand how a company runs from a financial perspective. Lynch and team just fine. The goal is to get a player at lowest price possible. Not stroke his bigun and give him whatever he wants out the gate.

He led the NFL in receiving yards prior to being moved to a part time RB role.

He is a top WR.

Some of these folks have some off the wall takes. Not only was Deebo a top 5 wr last season. He was also the best offensive weapon in the entire NFL.

Before his new found RB role

I called it when the change happened.

Deebo's value was hurt by Shanahan using him as an RB.
