you give big money for what you're gonna do in the future not just based off past performance.

Deebo's not worth it as a pure WR. Trade him.

(A) He's not a pure wide receiver, so this is a strawman.
(B) Prior to being switched to back part time, he was second in the NFL in yards and has just broken Jerry Rice's record for yards in seven games.

So yeah, no. Even your strawman is wrong.

Not true. All that effects is how the contract can be structured. For example, it may reduce how much you can give him in year one of the contract.

People point to the Rams about how they just want to win and going after all these proven vets with no regards to their draft picks. Those same people then come back with the "Well you can't pay this guy what he wants, smarter to trade him"

Which one is it? You want to win or you want to get draft picks which can prove to be busts?

His playing style doesn't lend itself to longevity...you giving him a 10 year contract? WTF we doing here. Deebo pretty much WAS our offense last year. It was also the first year he's admitted to really growing in terms of maintaining his body for the season. I'm betting on that guy all day every day and twice on Sunday.

Fans want to bash him cuz he's doing all these negotiation tactics and isn't just out there saying he'll play for the 49ers for free are ridiculous.

How many other WRs would've done what he did last year and had 0 issue with it? He was up there in receiving yards through halfway into the season with Kupp. He then goes to more RB than WR the 2nd half of the season and he never once complained about it. And some of our fans want to question his leadership and commitment? What a joke.

Pay this kid. If he gets injured then it's part of the game. You know you're getting a talented kid who gives our team an identity which helps us win football games. Don't be stupid and trade him for unknowns. You draft guys like this in the hopes that they earn themselves top tier contracts.
Using the Rams as an argument for paying Deebo or even Kittle for that matter is off base. They haven't paid out any huge deals to WR's, TE's or positions like that. They put money into the defense and a QB. Then they traded draft picks for vets to fill out the roster.

It's going to be hard paying Deebo, Kittle, Bosa, Warner, Trent and Lance (once his rookie deal is up).

And I don't even know what the hell that means "pure WR" lol?

He had 1,400 yards as receiver. That's on a team that was 20th in the league in passing attempts. I'd love for him to explain what it is from a WR standpoint that doesn't make him a "pure WR"?

How dare Deebo be elite at in-breaking routes lol. I mean he can absolutely beat man coverage and has damn good releases off the LOS. He just also is elite at breaking tackles and having amazing balance/vision as a runner too.

Such a lazy fantasy football take.
Trade him for 1st rounders so this bone headed "brain trust" can waste the picks on Solomon n Trey Lance again. A bust and Jordan Love (a guy they STILL arent sure about) essentially. Lol

The folks who wanna go off injuries, shouldve traded Kittle, not paid him n keep that same energy when it comes time for Bosa then too. Pay this man

This issue with this is Lance isn't gonna command a high end cap hit until like 2026. Come 2026 Trent will likely be retired and Kittle/Fred will be in the last yr of their deals....at that point you've either extended them or cut them.

So NO it will not be hard to pay all their guys.

As far as the Rams go Kupp has no GTD cash after this season...you don't think for one sec the OPOY isn't seeing the cash being tossed to WRs. He will for sure ask for a MASSIVE pay raise after this season.

Go look at teams like Miami & Chargers they're able to spend all kinds of cash because their starting QB is on a rookie contract. That is where SF is.

End of the day the only thing that matters with contracts is the FGTD money...everything is is fake news.

Lol, obviously that was a big mistake and one of the main reasons why you don't trade your best players. Two seasons later we're still looking/waiting for his replacement to show up.
Don't forget how it came out the George negotiators were incredibly intense and pissed off he and his agent (so reported) and it took until near the start training camp to resolve. Now hugs and kisses all around.

Expect the same with Deeb. Difference between the two Deeb trying to use Social Media as a tool a bit more than Kittle but eventually the results will be the same.

At some point you have to make tough decisions and that wasnt a terrible one. If they had drafted Tristan Wirfs instead of Kinlaw it would have been a great move in my opinion. They just made the wrong pick. I think you have to pay the big money for QB, OT, DE, and WR1. Bosa, Williams, and Deebo are all guys who are elite at these positions and should be paid top money to keep them.

Miss him much but haven't we been like a top five or so defense? Buck was a cap causality and times are different now with increasing cap and cheap QB.
We have to look at the total defensive picture and they have been pretty damn good. Could we have been better with Buck still here? Most likely. Did it destroy the defense? Not at all.

Trading Deebo for unknowns because you're afraid to pay him for what may happen is incredibly stupid. The guy brought an identity to the team last year which catapulted them for a deep playoff run. Where do you think we are without Deebo last year?

Yes it's hard to pay everyone but by the time Trey is getting his 2nd deal there is a lot of wiggle room to get things done.

I saw someone claim I'd trade Deebo for 2 firsts and a 2nd rounder right away....and maybe that is a deal too hard to give up but you could also wind up with Solomon Thomas, Reuben Foster and Dante Pettis with those picks. Now I happen to love 2 of those 3 picks and I still think highly of them as people(you can make the connection of who i'm talking about) but they were not very good players for us.

Deebo is a proven stud. You pay him and you make it work until you cannot make it work any longer and THEN you trade guys.

Last 3 seasons we had a trip to the SB, top 15 pick, trip to the NFC Championship game.

The one year where it was a disaster Deebo and Bosa both missed lots of time. These are the types of guys you keep. They're both total tone setters for each side of the team.
