Lol, obviously that was a big mistake and one of the main reasons why you don't trade your best players. Two seasons later we're still looking/waiting for his replacement to show up.

Two seasons later our DL is one of the best in the game and had us on the way to the SB again if not for Tartt and the offense.

People really gotta get over the Buckner thing. We all loved the guy but he was not worth paying that money when we had the contracts coming up that we did. And there is 0 doubt that if Buckner is a 49er right now that Trent Williams is with KC.

All of the guys we paid does things at the top of their game that few others if any are able to do.

Kittle - elite YAC ability and blocking, considered 1A/1B at his position
Warner - elite pass coverage, considered as one of the top MLBs in the game
Trent Williams - dominant LT, considered one of the best in the game
Deebo - elite YAC ability, did things this year nobody has ever done, including leading the league in Y/A with so so QB play
Bosa - one of the best pass rushers while getting the most attention with extra blockers as an edge rusher

Buckner was a great player but was he better than Aaron Donald? Some people didn't even have him as a top 5 DT right or wrong.

Having Buckner on this team would be awesome, he makes them better no question...is he THE guy tho? I don't see it.

Deebo was THE guy
Bosa was THE guy

He's always been our most consistent player amongst the D-line though. It was a mistake trading him. Fortunately, we have Bosa dominating for us.

maybe jacob will be good this year. but as of now.. subject to change. the big issue was how they used the pick they got for buck which has been well documented... i hated dumping buck. but the plan for replacing him was double dumb.. at the time....... subject to change. hope the kid has a good year for us

Consistent in what? When he was the best player on our defense we were 32nd, 25th and 28th in points allowed and 32nd, 24th and 13th in yards allowed.

In 2019 when we added guys like Bosa, Ford, Kwon and Warner took a step forward we jumped to 8th in points allowed and 2nd in yards allowed.

In 2020 after trading him and getting killed with injuries we were still 17th in points allowed and 5th in yards allowed.
Last year we were 9th in points, 3rd in yards allowed.

Trading him did not break this team like some have claimed.

it is interesting. people who use the feeble excuse.. well he gets hurt to much as a reason for trading him,,,,, they do not say the same thing about kittle and bosa. both of whom. esp kittle have injury histories.. i guess cuz deebo wants more money for all he has done for us makes him evil and a bad team mate.. oh yes.. he took pictures down off his website. lol,. you also bring up a good pont.... alot of us do not trust lynch to even know what to do with two first round picks even if we found a trade partner to do it. yes, lets dump a guy who could actually help get us over the hump with trey maybe being the missing link. jesus. i do disagree about trey
