All the noise about him "getting paid", getting traded...all those opinions could be true, but in a league with a salary cap, anyone, no matter how good of a player, anyone taking more than a fair share of the cap is causing a ripple effect that lessens the team's chances of winning. Deebo was my favorite player last year, but just his need to be the highest paid player in the league, if that is true, rubs me the wrong way. These guys make an unspendable amount of money...and there is a point where they are putting the team's chances at success at risk with their demands. Not saying Deebo isn't worth as much as other top receivers...it's just that if he gets what he supposedly deserves, salary wise, we cannot be as successful because we can't afford to fill in around him with quality.
I've always been a "team" guy, not a player guy...and this is why.

We're in April not June.

Still think its all positioning. Deebo would be a total idiot to leave the Shanahan offense that is based around him.

BECAUSE OUR QB WAS MEDIOCRE.
With Trey we don't need him. I'd replace Deebo with a speedster.
The next Dante Pettis.

Hopefully this all ends up much ado about nothing and all just negotiation tactics. I can't wait for the Bosa contract. He's also with the same agent, right?

None of us know if this is just games or if Deebo really wants out. We've seen nothing in the course of last year to suggest that he really doesn't want to be a 9er. I am inclined to believe it all negotiation tactics or just frustration that the 9ers didn't immediately give him what he wanted.
With all that said, the 9ers not Deboo, hold all the cards. He has 1 more year on his contract. He can be tagged afterwards. Unless he wants to retire or sit out an entire year or more, he must come to the table. Not to say he can't be traded, but it'll be on the 9er's terms, not Deboo's.
It's early yet, I'm optimistic they can work it out.

Yeah, it'll most likely be fine in the end. Just posturing.

Watch this dude get the biggest non-QB contract ever....and then gets injured week 1.

Exactly... The only leverage he has is doing what he's doing and nothing more.

they'll pay Bosa whatever he wants, so it is whatever.
It's foolish to pay Deebo now when we haven't even seen him in the offense yet with Trey Lance. Paying him now is like paying Garappolo after 5 games. Niners will be making the same mistake again. Need a better sample size.
