Jaire Alexander for Deebo Samuel and I would be cool with that.
Gonna need picks too…
Nah Jaire is the top CB in this league. Finding a CB is much harder than a receiver who can benefit from Kyle's system. Not that Deebo can be replicated but his production can be moved around to other players. Mitchell, Kittle, Aiyuk and Jennings can do more.
The problem is is we remove deebo, aiyuk and kittle are now the focus.
I'd be thrilled to have Kittle be the focal point.
Oh me too, but we would def need to find another very good wr. Easier said than done.
Jarvis Landry is still a Free Agent. He's not gonna replace Deebos production but he's a damn reliable target.

John Lynch should recall what Bill Walsh said about getting rid of a player a year too soon than a year too late. Sure, the Niners could remind Deebo Samuel he is still under contract and say, "You play for us or nobody" and force his hand. But then what?
Say Deebo does stay by the bay, goes out, and then tears up his ACL or blows out his knee or something. BZZZZZT! There goes any leverage the Niners have in a trade. They'd be lucky to dump him then for pennies on the dollar.
As much as it sticks in the craw to give Deebo what he wants, trade him. He'll never have more value than he does right now. Sell high. Trade him during next week's draft to the Jets or some other AFC bottom-feeder that's starved for diva wideouts who are looking to cash in after one really good season. Sure, it's gonna hurt and those TD's and excitement will be missed, but there's another Deebo Samuel out there and maybe this one won't lose his happy state of mind because somebody got in his ear and blew up his ego.
Nice to have had you in crimson and gold, Deebo. Now hit the road.

This dude is hurt so bad from losing. I would be willing to bet he thinks the team has regressed this off season. And who knows what his relationship is like with Jimmy. Maybe in his eyes, the 49ers are worse with Jimmy inevitably leaving the organization.
Could be Lance spending his off-season with BA as well.
I don't see this about money because he can wait to get paid. Why would there be a rush?
And lastly, this looks like it may be another Buckner deal, but this time we were warned about it. Deebo won't be the face of this team even if he were to stay.
I'd be happy with a top half pick in the first.
He's about to find out what regression means when he ends up on the Jets/Texans.

Patience. If multiple teams get involved it could spark an all out bidding war. Remember D. Watson that guy the Browns were ruled out and they got back in with a comically large deal. Let's take this all the way to the draft let these clubs out bid one another, if we go the trade route.

Also toss the Texans in there reportedly.
No way we would trade him to the Packers lol.
Yup or Jags or Jets

It's going to be the Jets.

(I know it's a bit of apples and oranges, but still, wow what a sh*tty offseason so far)
Look at the timing. Imagine this came out after the draft then our options would be limited. Now we have options. NFL draft may get a lot more interesting for Niner fans. Let's control what we can control. We can't make Deebo sign. But we do control his rights.
Last year's draft had 3 top flight WRs and a top flight TE. This year there's a bunch of burners, but no one at that level. There is no equal return for a trade for Deebo. So regardless of our draft haul, our team will be worse than last year.
Good luck Trey.

No problem. We'll trade him to Houston. That'll fix it

It would take serious picks to get me to move him.

This is the correct answer.
I don't care where it is, but make it a package deal with Jimmy, so that wherever he goes, he still has that guy weighing him down.

What a weird development. Deebo gave zero indication he was upset about what he was asked to do last year. In multiple interviews he said the equivalent of "whatever it takes to win". Goes to show you can't trust people to be honest.

I 100% buy what Rappaport is selling. I don't think there is any amount of money that will get him to sign here. I think we offered him top WR money, as has been reported and he is going to walk because in retrospect the hits he is taking, to be used how we use him, are going to shorten his career. The catch there is, without that dual role, I don't think he is a top 5 receiver and to make matters worse for him, sitting a year pretty much destroys your career. So he has very, very little leverage. Anyone who wants him is going to want 49ers Deebo, not borderline top 12 guy who doesn't take handoffs. So he is forcing his way off a system that made him a household name and likely offered him top dollar over not wanting to be used in a way that is exactly how his market is going to want to use him.
