I blame NY85 for not being vocal about this

If Deebo is not traded tonight, the timeline of events shall tell the story. What comes first, Deebo's extension or cut/trade Jimmy?

Will depend on any other restructures get done. I never said nothing needs done to sign him. But we have other options to clear cap space if needed. Its not Jimmy or nothing.

No but the FO has already restructured contracts in order to sign a few FA's this offseason. How many restructures do you think is plausible? When does it become detrimental to the future cap?

I am not denying cutting jimmys dead weight isnt the best option. It is just not our only option like many believe.

It would be more than Packers got for Adams and more than kc got for Hill.

Deebo is better and younger than both of those guys, so should fetch more in trade
I would rather have a 1st next year instead of 1st this year. Jets are going to be god awful still so it is probably a top 8 pick anyway plus its a better draft

Jets are headed in the right direction tbh. The Giants are bad.

This fixation on Jimmy G is incredible. You again dip into the emotional with the "bad karma" quip. So, if I may, it is okay for Deebo to want his bag, but not for Jimmy to protect his? And, for that matter, for the Niners to want to rationally solve this thing in the due course of time?

I know you were asking an overly emotional/irrational poster and not me, but I am going to answer.

Yes, its okay for Deebo to want his bag....but its less okay for Jimmy to want to protect his. He has already secured his bag. And he did so before proving much of anything. He has his bag. He will be getting another one, albeit a substantially smaller one if his market remains close to non-existent like it currently is. Deebo wanting to be paid isnt f**king the organization over. Either we pay him and he is here or we trade him and get a nice haul in return. That is not the same thing as Jimmy. He should have been cut already, but we for some reason are holding onto this hope that his market will actually develop after his rehab is completed. I just dont see it.

For what it is worth "Jimmy's Revenge" sounds like the name of a bad porno. OR a Seinfeld episode.

Yeah but the AFC is stacked. They will be luck to win 5 games with this schedule

Nope not enough, would want 10, one of their 2nd's, their 3rd, a 2023 day 2 pick, and Elijah Moore, or if no Moore, then a 2023 1st instead of a day 2 pick, then we can start talking, but I rather we don't trade him, and we work whatever needs to be worked out with him.

Either #10 has to be #4, or that '23 3rd needs to be a 2nd as well.
Maybe also a conditional involved. Ex. If on the roster week 1 of year 2 another 2nd in 2024. or 1800 total yards and 10tds this year triggers a 1st instead of 2+3.

I wouldn't go that far.

Has it not been pointed out that new contract/extension for Deebo is still possible with Jimmy still around? You see, you make it about Jimmy. Sure, he plays a role, but your sole basis is that it is his fault.

Where is my cap master when I need him. AB, I need you.

100% accurate Jimmy has no bearing on Deebos contract

TY. Mr. Heaven, sir.

Sure whatever you say. Let's see if he gets traded tonight and if not when he gets a extension, before or after Jimmy is gone or maybe they'll just make him play out his rookie contract and tag him 3x and how that will work out, regardless deebo is getting pay if he continues to play well like last year. And once Jimmy is gone along with his 26M+, that money will go to someone else if not deebo not my money, I can care less really to be honest.

Regardless, Blocking someone's money is bad karma. That's exactly what Jimmy has done having surgery late. If his 26M+ can go to doing an extension for deebo, then that bad karma goes back on Jimmy for blocking. No team wants to trade for Jimmy when he can't throw + have to take on his 26M+ total in salary for 2022. Even if a team is desperate for a starting QB, they can wait till July when Jimmy is cut because everyone knows the 9ers are moving on from Jimmy and his 26M+ total salary for 2022.

All debate pointless. Why?

Because if deebo doesn't get traded tonight. He will remain with the 9ers on his rookie contract. Trade request denied.

Now is he going to report to training camp? Probably not.
Especially if he doesn't sign a extension when a fair offer hasn't even been offered.

Then come July, Jimmy G will be set to get some of the money from 9ers for 2022, but his shoulder is said to be good by June and the 9ers still want to trade him for picks and dump his 26M+ 2022 salary. So does an extension for deebo gets done by July if deebo isn't traded? Not likely.

SO, if an extension is to be done, it will likely be after July after Jimmy is gone anyway.

What's the debate again? LOL ROFL LMAO, there is none.

If using Jimm'y money is the best option for giving Deebo his earned signing bonus, why would the front office refuse to execute the best option?

No it isn't. This draft is low on name recognition/star power. That's nothing to do with Deebo.
