I love McKinnon's front loaded contract, now it's not really hard to sustain it because a lot of the money was absorbed by the cap last year. I don't think his current cap numbers will affect whether he makes the team or not, rather his health and if he can come back from the Injury to be at least 80% to 90% of what he was before the injury, will be more important. He'll be affordable for the team if he is.

Snagged off the PS, yes I'd be pissed. He did more than enough to provide at least a late round pick. Would be fine with trading him, but giving him up for nothing....

Yes I would. The Niners would likely get a 5th or 6th rd pick for him if he loses the backup battle to Beathard. No way do they just release him and get nothing.

49ers will carry 4 "RBs"
McKinnon, Coleman, Breida and Mostert will be his normal ST ace but technically a RB
49ers may go 2 QBs if CJ is traded for whatever pennies they can get and Person can cover G/C that maybe allows them to keep one less OL

Personally I'd rather let BeatHard go. I think Mullin's played at a higher level than BeatHard last year in the regular season. Now, of course that can change, he might kill it in this years training camp, but he has to outperform Mullin's. If he does what he did last year in training camp, he's going to be traded unfortunately. The key is for BeatHard to not throw tipped passes when he throws to the Arby's during pre-season. If he avoids that, he might have a shot at keeping his job.

Tevin Coleman's four rushing touchdowns last season would have led the #49ers. His five receiving TDs would have matched George Kittle and Dante Pettis for the most on SF.

He was last year. But with the season lost they gave the kid a chance. He performed well. Our last 6 games were preseason for this year. I believe Beathard is locked in at number 2.
