The 1st team with a 1-2-3 combo. Jet and Coleman are the one-two and Cheetah is the haymaker that knocks you tf out.. Can't wait
I love this move. Coleman has been a zone favorite for a while now and is already familiar with Shanahans offense. This gives us a great trio of running backs.

Also, this means they really were after Bell

He was last year. But with the season lost they gave the kid a chance. He performed well. Our last 6 games were preseason for this year. I believe Beathard is locked in at number 2. They knew what/who he was. It was like Mullens was given his chance because Kyle is cool as breath mints. Lol

I doubt Beathard is currently locked in at number 2. I love the kid's toughness, but he is way too slow on his reads and release.
I agree on your assessment, but that's why he's a back up. If he was better than Jimmy then well. I liked the poise Mullens showed but I wouldn't keep him on the roster just so we had a third option. We go with what we have and a backup. Mullens is not better than Beathard.

Just cuz we had to stretch this past year doesn't mean we will next year. But our brass is finding a way to have better backups if we do. McK, MB, TC, Most active on Gamedays

You dont think another team would claim Mullens? I dont see anyway he is on the PS

This !! Mullens would get scooped up quickly if he was on our practice squad.
Ok but again, are we upset our third stringer gets picked up? We don't need a third string QB this year we hope. But we don't plan on keeping him on the roster at the cost of someone else making the game day roster do we?

I get your point, but because Mullens was still playing when Beathard was back from injury last year, I think Mullens is our #2, not our #3. I think Mullens needs a lot of grooming still, but he had a quick release.....we can work with that.
You have to be able to play defense to be able to get the ball back to the offense to get enough touches to even get 7-8 touches per RB per game.
I'm sorry- but this is either a Lunch/Shanahan don't believe in JM anymore or they don't have any other better way to spend their money since they're so incompetent and can't identify or get any one to come and play for the team. Sorry, but if you can't deliver results, you should be fired. You don't get paid to have good intentions. I hope they're both fired next year. Even if they do well this year, having this kind of ability to deliver will only lead to inconsistent deliveries going forward and you'll have a Baalke like situation where he got lucky one year on someone else's drafts and team building. What an absolute disappointing next few years to come.

Guess we'll find out this Fall, but I think Mullens is better than Beathard......from what I saw last year.

It's nice to be debating over our backup QB rather than our starter isn't it? Lol...I can't wait to see what McK brings to the table. TC is more durable than Breida. I hope we don't need Mostert at RB again even though he showed flashes. Just like I don't want to see Mullens at QB either
McKinnon, Brieda, Coleman, and Mostert(ST) active, Wilson Jr on practice squad, same as last yr with Coleman replacing Morris(cut) basically

Once again, you dont cut Mullens with the hope that NO team picks him up so you can stash him on the PS. There is just zero chance of that happening. At worst he loses the battle to Beathard for the backup and the Niners get a late rd pick for him. And... Beathard is certainly not locked in for the 2nd spot nor guaranteed a roster spot. That remains to be seen.

I could see this although Wilson could certainly be claimed from some team.

He was better. No doubt about it. However, my opinion is because they knew what they had in Beathard and wanted to give Mullens a chance. Season lost, why not. See what we got. No one is gonna trade for Mullens. He undoubtedly is a better QB than some teams backup and they will pick him up. Beathard is very capable as a backup.

We send Mullens to the PS not caring if he is picked up because we got Jimmy and his backup. You think Belichik is worried about his third QB? Well maybe this year...lol
A good signing. X that. Great signing. Not sure where that leaves McKinnon, but we have 2 starting quality backs, another guy that is paid like one, and a special teamer that can run some. This is a good, but expensive problem to have.
