Pretty much an admission that signing Mehkinnon was a mistake.

Hardly. However, it may be a sign that McKinnon isnt coming back from his injury quite as well as expected. Most likely is the fact that Coleman gives the team a great 3 man rotation and comes at a great price.

It's a sign that there's no confidence in McKinnon or Breida being able to be full time backs.
31 personel here we go
:)
Good signing. Shannahan sending a message after a year full of in and out of rotations. We need tough players to play through 16 games.
Zero guaranteed cash left on the Jets contract
Better than McKinnon. Him and Brieda will be a nice combo

Yep for sure. I'd expect Coleman, McKinnon, Breida, and Mohstert as the backs to start the season.

You dont have to have a "full time back" to win. Or maybe you havent paid attention to what NE has done in their backfield. This gives the team a great rotation and insurance in case of injury.
so will all 5 RB's be active on game day?? and if not who sits ?? I wonder if Breida is the subject of trade offers ??? We pushed for Bell, then sign Coleman (and if we signed Bell same questions I asked- who active or all active).. This seems like a chess move, with pending imminent outcomes.. stay tuned!!
We already have a deep & talented backfield...Coleman just made it a lot better, woah. Gotta give Lynch attaboys for being uber aggressive in this FA period. I like it. They'll host CB Jason Verrett to include a physical...if his health is good or even tracking well, don't be surprised if they sign him. He's oozing with talent...injuries have plagued him, but hopefully he's beyond that now.

Too bad we couldn't get a real talent like leveon bell. Gotta settle for lower level dudes.

All about keeping those pockets deep and staying safe.

You two are trying way too hard, the ultimate scheme fit. Bell would have to completely change his patient running style to work in an outside zone scheme. He might have been able but no guarantee.

Tevin is younger, cheaper and has already proven that he can. No idea how this can be seen as a negative.

They didn't win again until they got a workhorse type of runner in Michel. We don't have that.

I think after last season, they dont ever want to have a #3 RB that they cant count on. He also likes plays with 2 RBs where both are threats in the passing game.

It's unorthodox cap-wise, but if the offense is planned around two RBs that can line up as receivers on the same play, realistically they will need a capable back up so they can still run the same offense, specifically passing game.

Outside zone would be perfect for Bell. He has great patience in riding the blocking and bursts upfield quickly.
