This is why I wanted Sherman until his situation happened. I just couldn't trust Verrett. Freaking week 1. Those rookie corners will get a lot of work. Verrett and Mostert have all but assured they never really get any significant guaranteed money.

Hate to say it, but you can't rely on a guy like this with his injury history. This is why they drafted two CBs. Although they were later draft picks than I would have preferred.

It's almost as bad as losing Bosa last year.... Almost...
It's might be worse bro. Take a look at what Seattle and the Cards have done today. We have nobody to cover any number 1 wr. No way we can play much of any man defense.

I guess the 49ers are lucky he didn't take a multi year deal, I think it's time to sign or trade for a CB, either now, or in the offseason, we need a true #1 CB.
Gillmore please or anyone else. This is our year to go deep in the playoffs or SB. We have 7 million in cap, we can use a chunk of it
Some problems with Gilmore. He's on the PUP which means he's ineligible for the next 5 weeks and we don't have a whole lot of draft capital after the Lance trade to make a move.

Yup. He was the one guy we really could not afford to lose on defense with our shaky CB depth

This is rough! We need to find 2 CB. Dontae Johnson showed again today that he is a liability at that spot! DL will definitely have to find a way to disrupt the QB to help out our secondary.

Not sure what his offers looked like during the offseason but I thought Verrett took a gamble with a one year deal. I feel as though some team out there must have offered a short multiyear. No way he gets anything multiyear now.

Obviously sucks bad for the team but its worse for him personally. He's done everything he can and to finally make it back and have this happen is devastating. I dont think most of us can really understand what that feels like truly.

His career might be over. He's 30 and probably won't return to form for a couple of years.

Absolutely horrendous, looked like a torn ACL, hopefully there isn't major damage

Asante Samuel Jr. was there, and the 49ers took a guard that isn't even playing.

Yup ACL How are we one of the only teams that get hammered this bad this early in the season. It's f**king ridiculous.
How do you know we're one of the only teams. I haven't seen any injury reports. There might be several. I feel for Verrett after he fought he way back and wa splaying good football. Next years draft is already shaping up. DB,DB, DB. Plus wwe lost Mostert early in the game. He just can't stay healthy.
I think after the last what? 3-4 years, so many injuries, 49ers fans start to either think or act like we're the only ones who have major injuries, I mean look at the Ravens, they lost their top 3 RBs before a game was played, J.K. Dobbins, Justice Hill, & I forget the 3rd RBs name.
Also agree on Mostert, I don't see him back in 2022, 1. injury issues, and 2. he wanted to be paid like Tevin last yr, which was around $5M, so no thanks.
