From watching yesterday the pass rush is slower than a couple of years ago plus the way we were constantly gashed straight up the middle the line will have to focus to be better there so that means our CB's will have to be better and not rely on pressure to make their jobs easy. TRADE for a starting cornerback. I'm not convinced recycling pass their prime vets is the answer.

yup,,, i love sherman.. but maybe there is a younger at least respectable option out there... i am very happy we signed norman and we all HOPE he can be solid and mosely can get back sooner rather than later.. but yes.. you are right... our run defense was terrible and pass rush must improve. your theory of trading for a guy can not be ruled out. but the team has to do something and not just say. we like donte johnson

To be fair, O line is probably Detroit's strongest unit. Let's hope that our D line will look a little better when Kinlaw is in there. As far as trading for a CB goes I'd be okay with that but what do we have to trade. Really good ones usually get a 1st round pick or 2 and we don't have any. If we trade 2nd round picks we aren't going to get the impact corner we need.

What's slow about this?

Lynch probably called Sherman already, and needs to make a call to Gareon Conley and see if that ankle is fully healthy. Make a call to Quinton Dunbar and see if he has cleared up the personal issues he was having during the Lions training camp. The options are there so no reason for the Niners to slack and allow the likes of Johnson and Thomas (who does not look ready) to man the edges.

I don't think Sherman is an option. He is unemployed for a reason. His time as a solid CB is done.

well.. i assume we are going to spend a top three pick on a corner anyway or should.. so maybe there is someone out there for us. i am no fan of jacob k but if he comes back and helps the run defense i am on board

For all we know, Mosely could be hampered by his knee alignment all season.

Give me Sherm and Norman against the Eagles.

Nothing wrong with CB starting depth if and when Mosely comes back.

he is pretty old. and a bit slow .. maybe someone younger faster.. decent at least..

This. Sherman isn't even a shell of the player he used to be. He's now just a liability in coverage and would have to be constantly shaded to avoid the deep pass which puts the other side on an island. Not good, gotta be better options (even if that's developing a rookie)

I agree. I don't see Sherman as the answer. If he was 5 years younger then I would be all for it. If you saw those bombs to Locket or the deep throws tha tStafford was making you know Sherman isn't going to be able to defend those.

Sherman Is pretty much done at this point. I'd rather just give the young rooks a chance to prove themselves..

Not just that. He hasn't been working out with any team so wha tkind of shape is he in. They face Jalen Hurts next week who is showing signs of improvement. After that they will see Rogers and Wilson. Despite the way he looked yesterday, Rogers is still dangerous and Wilson is Wilson.

Old man Sherman will still get more respect from guys like Rodgers and Wilson than Dontae Johnson will. Johnson's a liability because he's a known target for opposition QBs (see Goff).

PLEASE sign Sherman for insurance purposes. Send DJ back to the practice squad.

I would bet that's he's in great shape but not football shape. And would bet that he'd end on on IR with some type of calf strain

Sherman was talking about suicide and dealing with alcohol issues just a couple months ago. Did everyone just forget that? He was already done last season. Now he's done and having personal issues.
