I think if Verrett really wants to continue his NFL career and he's recovering, he's going to try and do it the 49ers... we've been very supportive to him and this is a great team that needs a good cornerback.

I guess the question is... how low can we go with our offer?

He got paid 4.5 million to play one game. He better let us go low
It's asking a lot for him to productively return at his age and injury history. Most likely he gets a vet minimum contract.
Bring him back but do NOT depend on him to be the #1 like they did this past season

Resign if he wants to come back on the cheap, then sit him until the playoffs and pray he doesn't get hurt

Has Jeff Wilson taught you nothing?

Bingo. Pick up another CB like DJ Reed and keep JV as depth in a incase of emergency case.

You prefer DJ in the slot or outside? If outside does Moseley then go to the slot assuming Williams doesn't come back ?

I thought when we drafted him he would be a good nickel guy but he showed in Seattle he is better outside. Just let the guys compete plus it's not like Moseley has been a beacon of health. And yeah I want Williams back unless Desmond King is in play

At this point JV will only guarantee you two starts. Guy just cannot stay off IR. Almost a wasted spot on 53 man roster.

That ever so useful Josh Norman roster spot.

Only if it's for the vet minimum.

Yeah. It was nice to see Verrett recapture his pro bowl form in 2020 but niners need to stay away from players with checkered injury pasts going forward. Their fortunes don't seem to reverse here. Niners injury problems have been reoccurring and it seems to be a lot of the same people over and over. There are some nice affordable corners that I think fit well in this scheme available. Big fan of Steven Nelson in this defense. So unless Verrett is willing to sign for peanuts, I think niners need to move on here.
Alright I'm ready to see a 1 year contract to remain with the 49ers.
