Exactly. We have a solid CB group if we keep Verrett (and he stays healthy).
Lol @ verrert starting for the niners in 2022.

LOL at you not knowing that Verrett is close to a top 10 corner and he is definitely better than Mosley even after the injury assuming it healed properly.

Yeah if he can stay healthy he is for sure one of our top 2 CB's. If we resign him that is.
So far so good. Hopefully we can get JV back on a cheap 1 year deal, and also draft a corner. We will have a great CB room then.

Ward and Verrett starting, Thomas and Mosely backing up, Lenoir and Williams in the slot. I'd still draft one more guy for the outside maybe in round 4 in anticipation of Verrett being hurt lol. But this CB room looks tons better than what we had in 2021.

If KK doesn't come back with us who plays the slot? I've seen people suggesting Mosely but I don't recall him getting many reps at nickel since he's been with us.

Deemo Lenoir
Am I the only one who thinks its crazy to think he will last an entire season?

I think we should move on and focus on the development of players that are more durable.
I'm all for bringing him back but just inserting him back in to the starting line up is nuts. Lets see if he can just contribute off the bench 1st. Or if he can make through a TC

Ditto
At this point I feel the same way about Verrett as I do Ford. They are both excellent assets when they're healthy but they're NEVER healthy. Verrett has only played something like two full seasons since he's been in the league. I just don't see how you can risk going into the season with either of them. For all of their upside I would rather see those two roster spots go to players who might actually make it through an entire season, even if it's only as a rotational guys. At least that way you would be getting at least some value out of it.

I'm leaning towards Verrett being a signing we make during the season if *knock on wood it doesn't happen* one of our starting CB's goes down hurt.

1 year deal... lets do it.. he gave us discount so I say we honor him for that.. plus, he's a 49er FAN !!!

IF we bring him back on the cheap and he's healthy, I don't see the big deal with him being the starting outside CB with Ward. He plays until he can't is my opinion

This seems like a good plan to me.
