This seems like a good plan to me.
Yep. This is an injury signing not someone who should make the 53.
Agreed

With Mostert gone, I fully expect Shanalynch to botch this one as well. Look to see Verrett get signed to the vet minimum to play for KC or another viable contender. While we continue to fill our STs needs….

I think we should move on and focus on the development of players that are more durable.
Most teams will sign a guy for cheap. For vet minimum, you absolutely do it based on talent. If he gets hurt, no different than a 6th corner not making it.

Agreed. I want to navigate from oft injured players but if he's willing to sign a vet minimum then the value is just too good to pass up there.

Let me guess. Verrett will get signed by the Jets of Dolphins next.

On his end, I would assume and hope he wants to come back to the 49ers... We're a great team that could use a talented CB, and we've been very supportive of him through these injuiries.
On our end, his injuries are a concern. How much are we willing to offer him on a contract? I'm assuming a modest 1-year contract with minimal risk to us, but offer him incentives for playing time.

I'd like to see us draft another cornerback, with Moseley set to be a UFA next yr, who knows what he'll want, some said he's better than Reed, so $11M+ a yr, that's a lot.

Could be another reason they signed Ward. Him and Mosley ar essentially the same player. The plan might be to let him walk. I'm really high on Ambry and think he will be out best CB.

I'm with you on Ambry, I like him & Ward as our outside guys, then Moseley inside. And yes I think they let Moseley walk especially if he wants Ward money or more, he won't start outside in 2023 IMO, that's Ward & Ambry IMO.

Is there any word on how things are looking with Verrett?
I haven't heard anything of how he's recovering from injury. I would love to sign him to a low risk, non-guaranteed contract and see if he can return to form.

yea. what's the info?
If hes not rehabbing in time, let's sign him for minimum and IR him for 2022.
he's worth the investment for cheap money.
Plus all he's doing is rehab so no roster distractions during the year.

If Verrett was healthy last season like he was in 2020, SF is in the Super Bowl and beats the Bengals.
