Hopefully somebody can beat out Dontae Johnson!

Given the emphasis on improving special teams, DJ may stay. He was one of the best STs last season.

Guess we stash one or two on PS with protected designation.
Isn't the first time he's been written off, I have absolutely no problem taking a low risk high reward gamble

Can't understand why people are remotely jazzed about this or have any sort of expectation.

His body is broken. This man's career is over. He's played one season out of the past 30. This signing is a complete non-factor. He's getting the Dee Ford treatment and collecting a paycheck on an exercise bike.

Seems like a nice dude and was great for that ONE season. But that was the exception, not the rule. He's 31 on busted legs that require quick stop and redirection.

I don't know why they signed other than his vet presence and out of the kindness of their hearts.

He is a good dude and makes an immediate impact, and works hard. He's getting a probably minimum prove it deal. This isn't Dee Ford making big coin and not even out there trying.
f**king great news! I love this guy, he is a top 10 corner in my opinion went healthy. If him and Ward are the outside corners with Moseley (in the slot as well) and Thomas as a back ups, we now have 4 starters. We will be able to shut down most teams passing games especially with our pass rush. This enables us to easily beat the Rams if we see them in the playoffs and Verrett is healthy which is a big if. Either way this is a great signing.

On second thought, forget that, we always with the Rams ass with some of our best players injured anyway.

Championship
Awesome, love the possibility of teaming him up with C. Ward. Would be a fierce combo is they can both stay healthy.

Exact same reason I'm thinking Malik Turner may make the team. He's been a pretty good special teams player the last couple years and played special teams for Brian Schneider in Seattle.
Could've signed Mathieu but we get Verrett smh

Could've had an apple but we got an orange.

Pretty crowded CB room now. We're 7 deep if we plan to keep both our drafted CB's on the roster.

Ward, Moseley, Thomas, Verrett, Lenoir, Womack, Castro-Fields.

Curious of a couple things

1) Will someone be looked at as a possible safety option?

2) How long will we have to wait for Dontae to appear on the team again?

I see Fields being moved to safety personally

Why would we pay $10 mil a year for 30 year old safety??? The team he was on didn't want him even when he was willing to take a team friendly deal. Should tell you something. Plus Verretts deal will literally cost nothing if he flames out. Not really comparable.

Only about a $10,000,000 difference in price.
Low risk, high reward signing.
