I also didn't know that once you take someone off the PUP list you can't put them back on it. This is probally part of the reason they want to make sure he is fully healthy before taking him off the PUP list.

Didn't realize PUP had been changed from 6 weeks to 4. That's actually quite helpful in making roster decisions at the end of pre-season.

I do appreciate that the rule changes in the last few years have given teams flexibility when it comes to "medium"-length injuries where a guy could be out 4-12 weeks or so, but you can still balance the injury with your 53 man roster count. Before, it felt like all or nothing when it came to Injured Reserve.
I'm just really curious what kind of shape he'll be in after suffering a major injury at his age. Because if he comes back and is still starting-level quality, that's going to be a huge boost for our CB depth when we already have Ward and Moseley as CB1 and CB2 level players.

Agreed.. for the 2 plays he returns and is healthy we will enjoy a nice boost

Some truth to that for sure.

Yup he has the durability of a prime Jimmy G
Not sure he gives the secondary much production this season
See you week 5? 6?

Yessir. On the injury list with an out designation.
Hopefully we can somehow stash knight and he can learn from JV. Knight can be a good player we should do our best to hold onto him

I'm hopeful that Verrett's bad injury history is a matter of bad luck rather than truly being an injury-prone player.
Jimmie Ward has finished the season on IR four times with us, and then the last three years, he finished the season.

But in either case, we have Verrett on a low-risk contract. Hopefully he comes back healthy and strong.
Any updates on how Verrett is progressing? Is he on track to be available when he returns from the PUP?

Hope he's ready to roll. The thought of having him and Jimmie Ward back for week 7 against KC gives me hope.

Definitely could use both of them for that game

Dime back scenarios will be interesting. Do you go 3 safety's or 2 nickels. So much talent, somebody's gotta sit.
He'll be practicing this Wednesday too!
