He still could. It's all about competition.

Someone tagged me in this video.. Verrett looked just fine to me lol but I sent the video to my homie and again.. he was like "naahhhhh he's favoring the injury.. " .. he was right about Sherman who said he played on 1 leg.. so I'm going lean towards what he said about Verrett

I'll take Verrett favoring an injury over any of our other corners.

Even if he is slightly favouring the injured leg, I'm not concerned. He's still in the rehab process and we're several weeks out from camp. Any hesitancy may be as much psychological as physical as he regains confidence on that leg.

Hopefully this isn't a problem come training camp. But favoring an injury could cause a new injury due to overuse.

That's why I think he should be a part time guy this yr...if he plays well in limited snaps resign him.

I also think he's been injured for so long that he's gonna build up that confidence.

Agreed. We could keep Verrett and Sherm fresher if we have 3 starter quality CBs (fingers crossed on Spoon).

I wonder if starting him in the slot might be a way to get him up to speed.

Spoon is apparently balling but a CB roster of Sherman and Witherspoon as outside CBs with Verrett in the slot is pretty damn tasty.

It would certainly take advantage of his short-area quickness and let the lengthy guys outside press and do their thing.
Considering how long it takes most players to come back from an Achilles I can't realistically expect him to start. It would be cool if he could stay healthy the whole season.

if we get 6 games out of him healthy.. that would be more than we ever got from someone like ward. i just have little to no faith in the rest of the cornerbacks sans sherman. back to the wishing and hoping thing i guess

Balling out in shorts and shells. It's been said about plenty of players like Rashard Robinson and then the season starts and it's back to being the whipping boy.
if you watch that video and didn't know his injury you would think he was as healthy as could be. The fact that we know he's coming back from injury may cloud our judgement just a tad. that and the fact that our injury history makes us all a bit wary lol
