Hero, they don't get my jokes.
Lynch's 2nd wave of moves all have great potential: Mathews, Coleman and Verrett. This might be his best offseason.

Lol. I could see the Patriots targeting Isabella.
I think we should also consider signing Bradford (QB).. Just in case Grappy is that injury prone QB, we wanna be able to continue and compete, something both CJ and Mullen will not able to do so..

With this new offense, Sam Bradford will no longer worry about running a spread option.

CJ is as good as Bradford at times lol
"It's a different body type than we have on our roster, and it's something we wanted to provide," Lynch said. "But it's more than the body type, it's his play. I think he fits because he's got tremendous flexibility to play the 'big slot' and be that bigger target inside. What we liked is that he can play all three receiver positions for us. He has that mental capacity. More so, he has the skills. Very few guys can play all three positions. We think he provides that for us."

"We really like bringing in players, especially depth players, who can do everything," Lynch said. "It gives us tremendous flexibility, and Kyle does such a good job of creating the matchups we like. We think Jordan is an interesting piece to put wherever we want him."

He subtly called him a depth player as well! Good skills!

Thats what I thought as soon as I heard about the signing.

"You wanted a BIG WR? Here you go, now STFU while I go get this dude that breaks DB ankles."
I thought we were told kyle does not listen to the fans! more than likely kyle saw his little guys who can not get free at the line and can not catch a tough pass in the middle of the field and saw how woefully in adequate we are in the red zone and said,. well time to do something different.

Pettis got free at the line all game long.
1yr $2M, $1M base, $300k signing bonus, $500K per game roster bonus, $200K week 1 53 man roster bonus.

I think you might be forgetting that Bradford might be the most injured quarterback ever

Thank you for posting that! And a huge percentage of those red zone targets were inside the 10 yard line. I think people need to consider this as a very very good signing. People want to point out his last few years as being bad? Well he was injured last year and the year before he was on the buffalo bills which I shouldn't even have to explain why a receiver does horrible there
So, I've been watching a lot of film on Matthews getting ready to do a vid next week. Here's some things that stood out.

He had a limited route tree. It wasn't that he only ran 3 routes, but a guy who plays slot and outside normally will have over 100 routes they can run between the 2 spots but he didn't seem to come close to that. Not saying he can't, but that's not how he was used.

Was mainly used as a possession receiver. Ran routes over the middle all the time. His most 2 most common routes: shallow cross and crossing route....

Natural hands catcher - doesn't catch with his body but hands can be inconsistent.

Slow feet. He's not going to use his feet off the line like shiftier WR's so he has to make sure he protects his chest and uses his length to keep from getting tangled up at the LOS.

Takes too many false steps for my liking.

Slow feet doesn't make him the sharpest route runner. Reminds me a LOT of Vernon Davis running routes. Like, a lot.

Provides a large target in the red zone and an athlete with good catch and run ability. Should fit well into the WCO as a possession receiver who will be schemed open in space to use his athletic ability to gain YAC. Is not a guy you would rely on to beat man-coverage or beat C3 corners on deep outs/comebacks.
