Just had convos with cc about Matthews in the past...people thinking he was something he wasn't at this stage in the game.

Maybe he can do something at TE, dude can't separate at WR that was for sure. I'm guessing he's gonna just take some backend snaps during camp until Pruitt can go or we find another depth TE.

yes, i went to bat for him but at the end of the day. 85 was right all along. every we sign him.. people... and i led the way.. think he will be a big deal. the amount of of what he has done for us can be fit into a thimble and i see no reason why this latest go around will be any different

Yeah it's all good, people hear a name and assume he's gonna be the same dude he was in the past. Matthews hasn't done much since 2016. Sucks for him he was almost there at signing a nice fat extension.

He's a slot WR only and not a very good one any more. I can't see him doing much at TE but who knows.

my all time fail group of wide outs i thought would be elite for us are marlon moore. jon baldwin and jordon matthews . i would put david boston in there but he was never signed. i just convinced myself we should have signed him and he would all world. ugh

OMG. If you had asked me 5 minutes ago I would have sworn up and down that we had signed Boston and he didn't work out. I blame the photoshopped jersey pics. Dude was just too jacked.

After he added 17 pounds in less than six weeks with a six-meal-a-day plan, Matthews cajoled teammate George Kittle to let him attend Tight End U, the camp for 49 NFL tight ends that Kittle hosted in Nashville in late June.
"If you are trying to play seven more years after already playing seven, how would you approach every day?" Matthews said. "You better not be having bad days this early. ... I'm a rookie as a tight end. And that's the energy I'm going to bring to it."

Let's see if Matthews can hold up blocking a DE/OLB. Although Jordan Reed couldn't block and he was useful.
