there's definitely a lot of options for us in nickel while still being able to play the run

For sure...look forward to that!

Are the players in [ ] on PUP or 53 man?
The current list: Kwon, Warner and Lee. Those are probably your 3 best off ball linebackers with the most experience. Then you have to factor in Saleh's love for Malcolm Smith who's already been taking veteran first team reps at SAM. Nzeocha and Mayo are probably already depth and ST aces.

Greenlaw would have to beat out a veteran off-ball veteran LB in LaRoy Reynolds and bump either Nzeocha or Mayo.

Like with Bourne at WR, if he doesn't flat out win a starting role it might be hard to make the 53 let alone the 46.

BTW: This is a good thing. 5th-7th rounders shouldn't be making this team anymore let alone be considered starters and playing significant roles

AB, you pretty much nailed it. I'm not sure I see a single player different than what my current prediction is. Perfection, man!

Yes sir.

Skule should certainly challenge but the team signed Coleman (like Gilliam) long-term for a reason. When Richburg comes back, that's your 10th OL and usually only 7 are active so Skule would have to really prove he's the best option to be active. He didn't be hard to develop on the PS.

Yeah, if everyone is healthy, I could certainly see this...a couple edits on 'starters' but that's about it.
AB, I hope Day makes the squad. I'm not sure who I would bump off, but I think that Day is a gamer.

Maybe a mysterious(wink wink) injury happens to Skule or Harris, and they get redshirted for the year, then Sheldon Day makes the team.

Thanks OTC, personally, like many 49er fans, I'd love to see Ward cut, but that won't happen, sigh.

That is the likely 53. But I seriously doubt that Trent Taylor starts over Goodwin. IMHO we will field our three best WR's, and that's Goodwin, Deebo, and Pettis.
