I also believe DJ Jones makes it over Moore, who to me is a camp body right now.

No issues on offense, Matthews though needs to show something more than Bourne to make the 53.

OL wise, I like Johnson, but would like Skule on the 53.

Also think we keep 6 CBs, now with Alex Brown cut, I'd keep Harris if healthy.

No real need for a redundant base down SAM anymore. ST could be his saving grace but will he be active now? Different scheme.

Agree on Matthews. Early lead goes to the veteran. We have none. But the battle truly is with Matthews, Bourne and James.

Ward is that extra CB/S in my 'backup' role here esp. with Verrett healthy now.

Yeah, more OL changes coming!

I love you helping me walk/talk through these.

That was my EXACT thought. Why not the strongest man on earth who just so happens have the ability to shoot gaps and pass rush.

I actually think Blair is in danger of being traded. Bosa, Ford, Buckner, AA, Thomas, Street, Jones, and Day should make it.

I hear this. This 53 is actually a little more tougher than I originally thought.
We have to wait and see what this defense looks like before we assume they won't need this or that. Their under front is likely still their bread and butter. Kyle downplayed the wide 9 talk in his presser, and he's right that the chatter is overblown. They've been using wide 9 for years now. It's just now become a talking point.

I think it's going to be a wrinkle--especially in base--they use against OZ-dominant teams(ie the Rams). We just have to wait and see. We might not even be able to deduce much from preseason.

Right. But it would be the first time we use it in base, right? But to your point, you're right --- we just don't know to what extent quite yet. If we can do it on the regular to have both Dee and Bosa out there and not sacrifice the run, it could be a lot. But we know Saleh is all about run defensive packages early so we'll see.

I think one of the new draft picks makes it over Paul. Skule or Taylor

Yeah, I'd love to see how he would handle the position in pre season.
^ Lots of updates based on confirmation of the amount of usage of the wide-9 and TC reports.

It's tough right now because it seems like so many players are doing well. Really need to see how guys do in that first pre-season game before I start feeling like I can make a new projection on who will make the team. Just by judging solely off of practice reports, it feels like I'm getting the following impressions...

ARROW UP:

DL KENTAVIUS STREET, JULLIAN TAYLOR
CB EMMANUEL MOSELEY, AHKELLO WITHERSPOON, DJ REED
WR TRENT TAYLOR, RICHIE JAMES
OT SHONN COLEMAN

ARROW DOWN:

CB GREG MABIN, DONTAE JOHNSON
OT JUSTIN SKULE
OG JOSHUA GARNETT
S ADRIAN COLBERT
QB CJ BEATHARD
WR JORDAN MATTHEWS

I have yet to see much of any negative about the D-Line yet. That's pretty crazy.
