Translation: he gone
Shanahan says that he expects a lot out of his tight ends. A rookie like Kaden Smith being able to digest all of it so early in his career might be a stretch. pic.twitter.com/pqiBqJc7Ih

If Jet is healthy, Breida will be traded. If Jet is not healthy, he gets cut and Breida stays.
My final 53 is subject to change on any given day.
No way Jet gets cut, we save nothing if we cut him.
My bad, didn't know that.

Going with this for now. We started with 8 OL last year I believe. One other possibility I think is maybe we go with only 2TE for one week or something before trying to add back someone shortly after.

I like this one too, OTC. Just for reference, here was the breakdown last year; could be different but this one's been consistent with previous years too.

You only have 7 OL, need to cut someone for a 8th IMO, no way we go with just 7.
He has 8 OL there
My bad, Didn't realize he had McGlinchey as Mike.
I had 54 , take out Beathard and I got 53

Does anyone think that a combo of Juice/Hurd could act as our TE3, meaning we only keep 2 TEs? Seems like a 9th/10th DL or OL or a 7th WR would mean keeping a better player.

Yeah, I was thinking they might classify Hurd as a TE so that they can keep Richie James. Otherwise, I think (???) Richie is eligible for the PS. I'd hate to lose him.

I'm leaning towards 2 TEs with Hurd/Juice as 3rd TE option, not sure who we keep extra. Kaden would go on PS.

I approve - that would be the prudent thing to do.

Toilolo is a perfect candidate to be released before week 1, and signed after the first game. This gives better odds to sneak someone on the PS.
OTOH, Toilolo's name was hardly mentioned in the practice reports.

He hasn't done much. Hence, why he's probably PS material.

Obviously we still need to see what these guys do in games, but man, even still it feels uncomfortable slotting any of the above to get cut. My big thing is, if we can get any decent trade offer for someone that's on the fringe that we can't keep, we should take it. Shanahan and Lynch have always said that more picks is an advantage, regardless of where they are. We don't have a 2nd rounder in 2020, but at the same time, we seem to have a knack for hitting in later rounds. So, adding a 7th rounder to me is maybe not as weak as it may sound.

I'm all for that. Those 6th and 7th rounders can be leveraged for 5th rounders...an area we've done well with. Kittle + Greenlaw now.
