I think Richburg, Jet and Taylor have to make the day one squad.
Coleman goes to IR. Celek goes to IR or gets an injury waiver.

Moore gets cut, along with Smith, Garnett and Nze. I think Matthews gets cut and then resigned. I was on the fence with Lee and I do think they need more LBs.

Reynolds and Skule might pass through to PS or you end up poaching better players from other teams.

Tarvarius Moore? No way they cut him, or did you mean Damontre Moore?
Coleman and Brieda to start the season. Dynamic 1-2 punch.

I'd cut one DL, and keep Elijah Lee, I doubt Kyle goes that thin at LB.

As for the injured players, which would be designated to return, only 2 can come back, of course you don't have to designate them, you just place them on IR after the 53 man roster cuts, remember that they have to make the initial 53 to be placed on IR to be eligible to return 8 weeks later.

Also we can't place anyone else on PUP, so that would be where Richburg would start, same for Celek, as if he isn't cleared, we can't cut him and save his salary, he'd likely file a grievance against us to get the $1.65M base salary.

As for keeping say Jet, Coleman, and Taylor on the 53 to start, you need to cut vested vets, and then re-sign them the next day.

I'm not good at this, AB. Please bear with me.

Taylor as an example: we cut him before the 53 roster designation, re-sign him the next day. He then is ineligible to be placed on IR later designated to return (because he's not on the initial 53), so is then locked into the 53. If he's unable to play to start the season, tough. He's on the 53.

Did I understand this correctly? Thanks in advance!

Basically Trent Taylor, Jerick McKinnon, Shon Coleman, and anyone else they were to want to return this season off IR has to make the initial 53 man roster, then the next day those players get placed on IR, if they're placed on IR when final cuts are made they're out for the season, ineligible to return off IR.

So the best solution is to cut vested veterans who don't go through waivers, like LaRoy Reynolds, Dillon Day, Wesley Johnson, Levine Toilolo, and then we re-sign them the next day(Sunday, the same day we can sign players to the practice squad).

OK, thank you!!

Great job with the exception of Colbert. He's healthy again and is lighting it up in camp. He's not going anywhere.
Post Week 1 53 Man Projections:

QB: Garoppolo/Mullens
RB: Coleman/Breida/Mostert
FB: Juice
WR: Pettis/Deebo/Goodwin/Hurd/Bourne/James
TE: Kittle/Toilolo/Dwelley
OL: Staley/Tomlinson/Garland/Person/McGlinchey/Skule/Johnson/Reynolds

DL: Ford/Bosa/DeFo/AA/Solly/Day/Jones/Street/Blair/Taylor
LB: Kwon/Warner/Greenlaw/Lee/Mayo/Reynolds
CB: Sherman/Verrett/Witherspoon/Williams/Reed/Moseley
S: Ward/Moore/Tartt/Exum/Colbert

ST: Gould/Wish/Holba

PUP: Richburg
IR: Coleman
IR/DFR: Jet/Taylor (This means they are out the first 8 games)

If Richburg, Jet, and Taylor are kept on the 53 to start the season, then cut Bourne, R.Reynolds, and Colbert

I'm torn between Bourne and Matthews, I really like James a lot, he had some very nice catches/plays last night.

I think Ross Reynolds would clear waivers easily, I'd hate to cut Colbert, but I like Exum more, he has the experience, and looks really good.

I also am torn between DJ Jones as a NT or cutting him for Damontre Moore.

He's been MIA all off-season N yesterday's ejection didn't help his cause to make the roster. He hasn't done jack s**t since his rookie year

It's gonna be interesting who they keep in the secondary, I assume Sherman, Verrett, Witherspoon, Williams, Reed, Ward, Moore, and Tartt are locked into spots, I wasn't impressed with Marcell Harris. I like Moseley, except the fact that he has to play the ball, and Colbert I love, but am torn between him and Anyone Exum Jr. I love Exum's experience, and he played really well, while Colbert had a bad play, which I didn't think was a penalty, or worthy of ejection, he did lead with his helmet, but hit him in the chest.

All of these struggles. For real.
Looks like Trent Taylor's foot isn't completely broken, they repaired it in time, and time table to return is 4-6 weeks, so he may end up staying on the 53 to start the season, Kyle said he's hopeful he is ready week 1, so we'll see, hopefully he is, since he's had a good camp.
i thought Toilolo was a beast blocking.
Lee has a broken thumb, https://www.ninersnation.com/2019/8/11/20801347/49ers-elijah-lee-broken-thumb-dj-jones

If we can't solidify the line, especially at swing tackle, we'll need great blocking from our TEs.......

I hadn't realized it was Wesley Johnson who started at C. Good news. He played really well.

For the record, Wesley Johnson played OT at Vanderbilt.
