Taylor has to make team, he definitely wouldn't make it through waivers.

I noticed him too. We do need ER's. Depth. For coming in late, he did well.
If he doesn't make the team or get plucked, he's a definite PS candidate.

For the record, Wesley Johnson played OT at Vanderbilt.
That's probably why I missed him at C initially. Thanks.
Makes sense if he makes the 53 considering he can play every position across the OL
I don't see him making it. Garland has his spot in my mind.

People kept calling Skule the next Adam Snyder -- I think that's actually Wesley Johnson. He's a utility guy who I think has a shot to win that 8th spot, maybe even over Garnett if Richburg is activated Week 1.

Yup. It allows us to keep Person at RG too.

Updated Projected - Hasn't changed much. OT Young in for Coleman. LB Al-Shaair in for Lee. OG Garnett added. Richburg to PUP.
QB: (2) Garoppolo, Mullens
HB: (4) Breida, Coleman, McKinnon, Mostert
FB: (1) Juice
TE: (3) Kittle, Dwelley, Toilolo
WR: (6) Pettis, Samuel, Taylor, Goodwin, Hurd, Bourne
OL: (8) Staley, Tomlinson, Person, McGlinchey, Young, Garnett, Garland, Johnson
DL: (10) Ford, Buckner, Bosa, Jones, Blair, Armstead, Thomas, Day, Street, Taylor
LB: (6) Warner, Alexander, Greenlaw, Al-Shaair, Nzeocha, Mayo
DB: (10) Sherman, Witherspoon, Verrett, Williams, Moore, Reed, Tartt, M Harris, Ward, Moseley
K: (1) Gould
P: (1) Wishnowsky
LS: (1) Holba
IR & PUP: Coleman, Richburg, Celek
WR Notes: I really wanted to put James in as the #6 WR, but I'm not convinced yet. His kick return ability is nice, but is he a Top 6 WR on this team? That's my question. Matthews still has a shot. Bourne has to stop dropping the ball. He's capable of great catches -- he's had highlight reel ones in practice and a couple last year. That door for the #6 spot seems at the very least cracked open. At other positions, we need more clarity on the injury front.
S Notes: If we only go with 3 RB or 2 TE, then I think Exum makes the team (depending how the rest of his pre-season goes). Just seems to know what he's doing out there better than Colbert. No question some of our guys will get picked up by others teams after final cuts.
Injury Notes: Will Richburg really be ready to play Week 1? Like full strength AND up to speed on installs? I dunno. Seems like a 6-week PUP candidate to me. Does McKinnon even make the team? Is his knee in even worse shape than we realize?

Need to see more clips against other players. That was against second year player Adam Redmond, third string G/C for Dallas. Going to guess he's not on the Cowboys final roster.

This is probably a stupid question but doesn't the suspended dude need to be included in the 53? Otherwise what is he suspended from?

Does anyone know of a link to a 49ers roster that I can print out that has the players arranged by least to highest number rather alphabetically?

I like your notes. I think they are spot on. I don't think Richburg will be ready on day one gameday, and McKinnon's swollen knee doesn't bode well for him - it's been over a year and he's still having knee problems. He's not the biggest guy at the RB spot and I think he got injured in non-contact drills, I believe. What more in game situations where he's getting hit on that leg?

Thanks! After further thought, I'm gonna make one more tweak and put Malcolm Smith back in. To be fair, he was solid when healthy last year. So I think I'll change my mind on giving a rook the spot over him. Smith may not be the 4.4 guy he was entering the league, but if he's healthy enough to still be a low 4.5 to 4.6 player, that's plenty sufficient speed and I can't sit here and say experience doesn't mean anything. Rookies are more prone to giving up big plays and we can't have that. For this reason, and due to Smith's ability to play all three LB spots, he seems like he has a better shot to make it than I initially thought.
Also adding Richie James. Pettis' punt fielding was borderline terrifying and Taylor is hurt. This will create a very difficult decision, but I think we'll bite the bullet and go 2TE to make sure STs is safe, with Juice filling in as TE3 if necessary. Updates below, with full depth chart ordering:
Offense
QB: Garoppolo, Mullens
HB: Breida, Coleman, McKinnon, Mostert
FB: Juice
TE: Kittle, Dwelley
XWR: Goodwin, Samuel
SLWR: Pettis, Taylor, James
ZWR: Hurd, Bourne
LT: Staley, Young
LG: Tomlinson, Garnett
C: Johnson, Garland
RG: Person, Garnett
RT: McGlinchey, Young
Defense
LDE: Ford, Bosa, Blair
RDE: Armstead, Thomas, Street
DT: Buckner, Jones, Day, Taylor
WILL: Alexander, Smith
MIKE: Warner, Mayo
SAM: Smith, Greenlaw, Nzeocha
LCB: Sherman, Verrett, Moseley
RCB: Witherspoon, Reed, Moseley
SLCB: Williams, Reed, Moseley
FS: Moore, Ward, Reed
SS: Tartt, Exum
Special Teams
K: Gould
P: Wishnowsky
LS: Holba
IR & PUP: S.Coleman, Richburg, Celek
Notes: You may have noticed I have Pettis in the slot. I think with Taylor out, Pettis will start in the slot. He still would get snaps at the other spots, I imagine, but starting in the slot could give the team a nice balance between the varying skillsets of these players and of course size/speed of each. At safety, it's still very TBD because we haven't seen if Colbert has regained form yet or not. After really thinking this through, I think Marcell Harris -- even though he's very promising -- is in danger. He's the only one of the group who can't play both safety spots and that hurts him. I see almost no chance he passes through waivers though, so I think if we can trade him, we should.

Gotta admit, predicting this year's 53 man roster is a lot challenging than the previous years. Which is a great problem to have, we have some talent on the DL and skills side.
