Brunskill was the first guard off the bench against the Chiefs (the preseason dress rehearsal), but you have three OL guards ahead of him. Seems doubtful to me.

You may be right. Day played both T and G but as a, er, prospect, Brunskill probably adds more as a T. But Young would be ahead of him. Hmmmm.

Post Pre-Season Week 3 Prediction:

QB: (2) Garoppolo, Mullens
HB: (3) Breida, Coleman, Mostert
FB: (1) Juice
TE: (3) Kittle, Dwelley, Toilolo
WR: (7) Pettis, Samuel, Taylor, Goodwin, Hurd, James, Matthews
OL: (8) Staley, Tomlinson, Person, McGlinchey, Young, Richburg, Garland, Brunskill
DL: (10) Ford, Buckner, Bosa, Armstead, Thomas, Moore, Street, Day, Blair, Jones
LB: (6) Warner, Alexander, Greenlaw, Smith, Nzeocha, Mayo
DB: (10) Sherman, Witherspoon, Verrett, Williams, Reed, Moseley, Moore, Tartt, Exum, Ward
K: (1) Gould
P: (1) Wishnowsky
LS: (1) Holba

Slept on things, and changed my mind. At DT, not sure Taylor has done enough yet to make the team. Also think he hasn't played quite enough for us to worry too much about losing him from the PS. I like Al-Shaair at LB, but I don't think he's assignment-trained enough or a stalwart on STs yet. Hightower will make sure Nzeocha stays. OG Garnett gets traded if we have a taker (if released, he would most certainly be claimed), and we keep OT/OG Brunskill. Some people have said Sam Young has played well -- I have seen quite the opposite. Coleman was a FAR superior player. Young whiffs too much both in the run and pass game. I think we're going to look for any better option possible.
8/27

QB: (2) Jimmy, Mullens (Beathard traded before Sat)
RB: (3) Breida, Coleman, Motsert,
FB: (1) Juszczyk
WR: (7) Pettis, Goodwin, Deebo, Taylor, Mathews, Bourne, James
TE: (3) Kittle, Dwelley , Toilolo
OL: (8) Staley, McGlinchey, Tomlinson, Person, Richburg, Garland, Johnson, Young
DL: (10) Bosa, Buckner, Day, Ford, Armstead, Thomas, Blair, D.Moore , J.Taylor , DJ Jones
LB: (6) Alexander, Warner, Greenlaw, Mayo, Lee, Al-Shaair
CB: (6) Sherman, Verrett, Witherspoon, Williams, Reed, Moseley,
S: (4) Tartt, Ward, T.Moore, Exum
P: (1) Wishnowsky
K: (1) Gould
LS: (1) Holba

IR: McKinnon, T.Harris, Hurd
Season Ending IR: S. Coleman, K. Street

PS:

So far it's only been guys who had no chance of making it.

Could be.

I like the Wilds signing. Kid is a blue-collar guy who knows how to play the game. Depth/ST.

I liked what I saw of Al-Shaair. Young guy with hustle and agility. I like him over Lee.

There will be so many 1st and even 2nd team players inactive this Thursday. The moves are mostly to make sure there are enough bodies to play for each position. And correct the guys they cut have no chance to be on the team anyway.
After today's roster updates:

QB (2): Jimmy, Mullens
RB (5): Breida, McKinnon, Coleman, Mostert, Juszczyk
TE (2): Kittle, Smith
WR (7): Goodwin, Pettis, Taylor, Deebo, Hurd, James, Matthews
OL (8): Staley, Tomlinson, Richburg, Person, McGlinchey, Young, Garnett, Garland

I think McKinnon is then put on IR and we bring back Toilolo.
I think we probably pick up an center from another teams cuts to replace Garland.

DL (10): Bosa, Buckner, Day, Ford, Armstead, Thomas, Moore, Blair, Taylor, Jones
LB (6): Alexander, Warner, Greenlaw, Mayo, Al-Shaair, Nzeocha
DB(10): Sherman, Witherspoon, Williams, Verrett, Reed, Moseley, Ward, Tartt, Moore, Harris

Street to IR.

ST (3): Gould, Wishnowsky, Holba

Agree, but have a few Q?'s, and assesments. Otherwise good tho, would completely sleep well at night with this roster. #10Wins

*In my Eddie Murphy voice-"Who the heck is Johnson" ?? (on OL )
*Think we keep 9 DL.
*Who is S. Coleman? (on IR)
*Too many DL that are GOOD! This is why I hate over drafting and over stocking positions ! "Well its a good problem to have, cant have enuff of these guys", well the problem is we cant keep all of them !
