Nobody should be shocked at this point if the #49ers place RB Jerick McKinnon on season-ending IR this weekend after latest setback. He has to make initial 53-man roster in order to be eligible to return at some point this season.https://t.co/YttqLm4RXA
— Matt Maiocco (@MaioccoNBCS) August 28, 2019Jeff Wilson is an NFL running back. Period. He has good size and runs hard. In light of Jerick McKinnon's latest setback, I believe the #49ers would be wise to keep him on their 53-man roster.

That's great news IMO. I was never really pumped on Mckinnon in the first place. I did want to see what he could do in this scheme though. It looked good on paper and sounded good in theory but the proof is in the results. Sounds like Malcom Smith all over again.
High priced free agent doing a whole lot of nothing
If Wilson isn't on the 53, it should only be because he's been traded to a RB needy team. Wilson brings the power that our other runners lack. Breida, Coleman, and Mostert all have blazing speed so I think it'd be a nice balance.
Mostert runs with good power himself. He usually goes forward when tackled not straight down or knocked backwards.
