Did he?

Don't know, but there are the usual warning signs posted about them. I didn't see any fresh lion tracks. The article uses that as a supposition to illustrate how fast they might be running.

Just wanted to share my experience a little bit about my running "The Hill". I was in the South Bay yesterday morning so I tried running the trail that Niner greats Jerry Rice and Rodger Graig and others trained on during the off season. I found the source of information somewhere on the Zone and that led to a web-site ( sorry, I do not know how to create a link to it at ) askmen-com/sports-commentary/1084222/article-running-the-hill-the-famous-workout- of - san-Francisco-49ers. And that information from that article excerpted from 100 things49ers fans should know...ect....by Daniel Brown. I did not buy the book.

I had been looking to do this for few years and the opportunity presented itself.
Anyhow the article has all the information you need to get to Edgewood park and take the correct trails. Sorry I do not know how to post any pictures.

I am just a recreational jogger so I just ran a slow pace, for the 4 miles or so in about 1.5 hours( lotsa stops). It was a beautiful day and a great workout for me. The trails are well marked and have a good dirt or gravel base for traction , ( it was wet in a few spots ) It is a uphill pull to the top so if you just want to hike it that's good also. The wild flowers are still out , it's nice and green, and the views towards the top are magnificent. You get a sense of how grueling a workout it was for the Niners who ran it.
At the parking I saw a nice car that had a License plate that read on it " I RunMountains " and the driver was proof of that as he looked to be in excellent shape.
I am bit sore today but For me it was a great experience and I recommend it to anyone.

Congrats. Your footsteps have paved over McKinnon, Patton, and Jenkins' invisible steps on the Hill.

Tell 'em there's donuts at the finish line.
It looks like Peyton Manning is running "the hill" , with Jerry Rice, in one sequence that's featured in his NFL network special coming up. I think it was called Peyton's Places ? Showing on the 19th ? The top of the hill looked familiar.
I ran that s**t once. Its near my parents house

Great view from the top, next to the old bench.

That hill isn't as bad as the "other" hill... it's adjacent and across the street. Rode that b*****d to a vista point on my bike... uphill

Sounds like a heck of a ride....Well done. When I got finished running the hill, I just poured the blood out of my shoes and drove back to the gold country.
Rattlesnake country - if I were younger, I'd love to take it on the back of a horse (OK, hiking if that's not allowed). No way I'd ever try to run that.
I completed another run on " The Hill " today...great weather, nice view, good running surface and surroundings. I hope it helps bring our team good luck.
