your first four picks are spot on
Thanks Marvin, always good stuff and I appreciate it.

I think Maybe the trade back to 6 ship has sailed with OBJ. Wouldn't mind it, but I don't think that happens. I prefer AJ to DK.

I think the Giants go Defense with the #6 pick now. Unless they are totally blowing smoke which I don't believe THEY think Eli is good for another couple years which to me is crazy. They could use the #17 pick possibly trading up a little to address the QB spot.

I mean as I see it, If they were going to package 17 and 6 to move up to 2, all they had to do was trade OBJ and they'd already have 2. 17 is what they got in the OBJ trade so makes no sense that they would refuse to give up 6 in exchange and then give up the thing they got in the OBJ trade to move up.
Give me a tackle or single high free safety with the 36th. We have to2 many receivers and there's too many available to pull the trigger in the second unless it's like Butler or Brown. I like what we did but some of these guys are hurt and we won't know s**t until they're on the field playing.

Shanahan really wanted Odell and after this failed trade, the Giants are not an option for 49ers. Trade with Raiders is the route to go if the team is willing to pass on Bosa

Didn't do enough. It's been this way for 3 years.

Teams can only do so much. It's really hard to address every position of need in the free agent market. Too many things have to happen so everything works out. The draft will help but we could use some extra picks.
Thanks for you reasons, Marvin, and laughed at your picks. Speaking of which, i was high man last yr with 13 Ws. So i'm No hot shot at picks , either Ws or positions. Bottom line is kyle is HC. Kyle likes WRs. Sadly, i guess he gets one in 2nd or 3rd. To prove the point, last yr he could've gotten an OG by moving up into the 2nd round. Dang if we didn't trade up...for Pettis. So so much for my ideas.
Your take on Q is a bit off... he is the most disruptive prospect in this class. It's not just because he put up insane combine numbers, he has the best tape and consistency play in and play out of any prospect last season. Bosa is no slouch either, just not as many "Ohhh Sh**t!!" moments on a play by play basis.

Bosa or Q is a win/win situation, whichever way they go the pass rush is gonna be much improved.

And as always, love the content you put out Marvin.

Don't sell yourself short Marvin you're a terrible slouch! just giving you 💩 I had to throw in that Caddyshack line. So glad you're back, whoever does not want to read your posts or ignore your posts forget about em! We love you around here and your contributions are invaluable we look forward to them.

Some random thoughts. Solomon Thomas will have an above average year I'm predicting 6 sacks

we will get a good receiver in the second or possibly third, AJ Brown is my draft crush I want him very bad he gets yards after catch like it's going out of business.

Kevin Coleman was an awesome pick up he should be our starter by the end of the year

Bosa we will be ours and our DL will be like Seattle's just like you mentioned or close to miller and Chubb

I was really upset about not addressing the safety position and that leads me to believe we might get a safety in round two if the receivers are gone.

Jimmy Garoppolo, people forget made the OL look way better than it was and he also made the defense about top 10 that's without the new additions!! So even though our defense will be probably around 10 to 15, in reality, stat wise I feel we will be top 10 because of Jimmy. Simple as that we will be on the field longer scoring more points getting more turnovers etc.

If Jason Verrett plays most of the year we will be at least 9-7 and a wildcard. If the rams are even half as injured as we usually are we will take the division. I'm not too worried about Seattle our back ups and undrafted free agents took care of them.

Pettis will make a big leap and with Matthews we finally have a red zone threat. Even 6 tds will improve our team and win an extra game. That may be all we need.
solid breakdown Marv

Don't get me wrong. I like Q. If he's the pick its a solid one. He killed it last year.

My point was more that all of the sudden now Bosa has all these flaws. Its a natural part of the draft process. I remember when Justin Smith was drafted and all the comments were that his arms were too short. Then when he came over as a free agent he only had 2 sacks the year before, waste of money.

If Bosa is Justin Smith (not saying he is, just illustrating a point) I think we'd all be pretty damn happy with that.

This is what happens. When a guy is built up, there comes a turning point when all of the sudden people want to pull him down. That's what is happening with Bosa. Is he going to be Lawrence Taylor? Probably not. Is he going to be one of the better DE in the NFL? Probably.

Moreover, people make that "he's maxed out" argument all the freakin time and then the guy continues to improve into a GREAT player. Manning is a great example. The assumption is if you take the better athlete they can learn to be better and then be REALLY good. The problem is that it seldom works that way. I guy who is a great athlete doesn't always become a great player. A guy who is a great player and a really good athlete continues to improve.

Thanks for your thoughts, I always enjoy your observations. Any thoughts on the Oline? Is it a solid line and what do you think the FO will do in the draft to help the line. Any thoughts on the new coaches?

Coaches: I love the Welker hire. He's a guy who worked for it and can teach that.

O-Line: Assuming they stay healthy, I think they can be good. Guards are the problem. I like Tomlinson, but on the other side I thin one of those guys will be good enough. I can see them drafting someone as well. Good news is you are looking for athleticism at that position while other teams are looking for girth. They might be able to find someone who fits them late on draft day.
2 words for o-line, Alex. Bars. Good pulling guard, has had good college offensive line coaching, already has developed chemistry with McGlinchey, can be had later on in the draft due to his injury and despite his injury should be ready for camp or if nothing else the regular season.

I'd be happy w/him - depending on how he has healed.

Agree

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Giants traded for Rosen.
Thoughts.

Passing League:
Biggest needs still: coverage, pass protection and receivers

....still a long ways to go. Hoping for a HR with the #2 pick and a couple really good starters after that from the draft.
