Still a,little confused about the contract. Are we getting any cap relief this year? Heard he's still on year 5. What does that mean.

Most likely lowered his cap hit this year to about $10M, not confirmed yet though.

Yea so so how can the cap be lowered if he's still on the same deal he was before the extension for this year? Spreading the 5-year bonus money into this year shouldn't help right? It would only make things worse for the deal that's already there. What's the actual explanation?

I'm not 100% how it works but my understanding is that they convert some of it into different types of payments, instead of base salary.

we will wait until the details come out, but I'm sure AB can help break it down.

The $50M bonus prorates at $10M a yr from 2023-2027, I have to think Bosa has a minimum salary of $1.08M, plus the $10M proration, meaning a $11.08M cap number for 2023, saving $6.779M, putting them around $7.4M under right now.

wait...I thought rookie deals couldn't be restructured. So they took 17m in 5th year salary and converted to 1.08m + 10m bonus? does the cba allow that?

No, you can, but my thought is that they may have front loaded it for 2023, so we'd go from $30M in cap room to around $13M in cap room, but 2024's cap number could be as low as $12M.

ok. Interesting. Cuz williams is up to 30m next year and kittle 20m. Plus we have aiyuk to sign.
Now trade him for a top tier qb. Greedy b*****d

So where's Bosa ...? Did he showed up today at the Niners facility. Do they even know where he's at? Or did he ghost Kyle and the FO like Jimmy G in the offseason.

He's been in Pittsburgh this whole time.

I was for sure he's in FL lol

Why would we need a top tier qb to backup Brock?
Hes going to have to play at the same level as he did last year for a few years to make up for that contract. Hope he lives up to it.

Double swoosh
I like Bosa but he's not worth with that much. Probably won't live up to the contract.

Kyle said he was going to speak with Nick right after the press conference but it sounded like Nick was arriving tonight/tomorrow

He's already shown he's worth that much. He's earned it.

Welp, probably just as well we moved up to grab Lance instead of staying put and possibly drafting Parsons. We'd never be to keep Parsons now once he starts renegotiating his contract, though maybe we'd have a 6th or 7th ring by now.

Nicks mom said that the biggest difference between chargers negotiating joeys and 49ers was that they were really professional and kept everything behind closed doors. Didn't leak anything or lie about anytbjng in the media. She said the chargers have done that.

nicks mom has been very open that the 49ers are a much better organization than the chargers. She said on CMCs moms podcast that the 49ers are great to the players and their families - specifically their families. Better seats, better access to the players pre and post game, everything. I love hearing that.

she even said that our chefs are amazing. Nicks on his way here and left Florida around 5PM eastern time, 2pm our time. He will be at the facility tonight
