What's with his sack celebration? Can someone please enlighten this old geezer?

The shrug celebration? He got it from his brother. I don't think there's a special origin story. I remember Joey saying that he shrugged after a sack and just kept doing it.

I think it's from Michael Jordan when he did it. MJ was hitting every shot in this one playoff game and did that shrug while going down the court.

That would've been cool, but I guess the ¯_(ツ)_/¯ emoji influenced Bosa more than the GOAT.

The celebration doesn't have some epic genesis -- "it just happened," Bosa told Cleveland.com. His sophomore year in an early-season game against Cincinnati, he sacked QB Gunner Kiel for a safety. And then he shrugged. Here is that shrug:

It's a funny way to react to destroying an offensive lineman and then a quarterback -- "huh, I didn't know I could do that!" -- and it blew up around him. Soon, Bosa had a reputation to uphold.

Naw. We need more hype.
We need Bosa to jump up and down and yell "SACKAROONIE!" every time he gets a sack.

In all seriousness though, given his deadpan sense of humor... the shoulder shrug really does fit him as a celebration.

You can see it early on, say 2nd step, Nick is already engaged with kolton Miller, has extended his body down low and is elevating Miller. Next step he gets miller vertical, then tips him past vertical, another bull step and Miller is heading backwards toward Stidham. Note that Nick doesn't push Miller into QB, he launches him . This was the game right here.

He should work in the offseason on doing jumping spinning 360 roundhouse kicks, while doing the shoulder shrug.

Bosa can't just walk in and take a guy like Cassius Marsh's celebration. 🤷🏻‍♂️
